The art and drabble for Jamie's bday is so *chef kiss* 🤌🤌 mhmmmm so I gotta whip up Fantasy AU! Grace for this one (I'll redesign her fit later) mueheheh I swear these two would have so much beef as rivals
And Jamie's ahoge makes a cameo after disappearing from all of the drawings I made of Jamie (I just morphed it with the side parts of his hair instead)

percy would be an anemone and anik would be oleander no i will not be explaining further
fun fact about anik!! he has two younger half siblings- ryuko and yuna!!!!! they're twins!!!! i feel like in a situation where the twins ever get to meet percy, jamie, elio, ect.... yuna does NOT fw percy lmao 🥹💔 she finds him suspicious....... doesn't like how he flirts with people he barely knows and warns her brother "this guy might be a player" which i think is really funny cause i fear he might be the furthest thing from it. even though yuna and jamie are both quiet, she also doesn't like how little even his friends know about him.... therefore also finds him sus. HOWEVER. she ABSOLUTELY vibes with elio, deja, and cam lol <3 ryuko vibes with percy because they both have a few piercings (though ryu's got some more on his face- like snakebites and stuff) and speaking of snakebites!!! he might bond with reynah over that if they ever meet lmao. vibes with everyone pretty well except for jamie as well- also finds him off putting, but isn't going to, like, push his buttons or anything. i feel like he would have a similar opinion of deja as well, but after talking to each other they'd see that they have more in common than they realize- they're both very driven/ambitious people, i'd say, so yeah!!!!! anik sibling lore!!!!!
returning to my prison tomorrow..... who knows when i'll have free time again.... :(
Two men are seated across from each other against a blank white background, a few bottles of liquor and two shot glasses between them. One sits with an easy, cocky sort of relaxation, crossing one left over the other, his pink plaid shirt rumpled at the collar. The other man sits with his back straight, face calm, yet neutral.
“Please introduce yourselves.”
“I’m Percy,” the first man says. His voice is smooth and confident- almost arrogant, but not quite.
“I’m Anik,” the second man says. He inclines his head a little towards the camera out of politeness.
“How did you two first meet?”
Anik rolls his eyes and Percy laughs. The other man looks excited at telling the story, and he does so with a cheshire cat grin.
“I accidentally almost ran into Anik with my scooter. And then my scooter was acting all funny afterward- kept trying to block Anik’s path whenever he was trying to leave. And then we met again at this barbeque event that our university’s Student Government was hosting.”
“You forgot the part where you turned the whole thing into an entire rom-com. You said the whole thing was right out of a movie, and then proceeded to ask me what kind of love interest I wanted you to be.”
Percy shrugs, smug. “What can I say? I’m a romantic.”
“How long were you dating, and when did you break up?”
“We started dating two years ago, but we were friends for another year before that. It’s been a year since we broke up.”
“Eleven months,” Percy corrects. Anik’s lips purse together, eyes narrowed and eyebrows pinched together in an unreadable expression.
“And could you tell us a bit about yourselves? Why you’re here?”
Anik’s smile is sly, almost like half a smirk. “I go to Wyrn Myer with this guy. I’m studying Law and History, and I’m here because I wanted an excuse to call in sick at my job.”
Percy’s own expression is just as, if not more easy and composed. “I’m studying Biology with a minor in Math. I’m here because I’m a broke college student who needs money.”
Both of the men have a deck of flashcards between them; the producer asks Anik first to read the question outloud.
Anik clears his throat. “How would you describe our first date? What was something special about it?”
Percy’s smirk widens just by a fraction. He turns to the camera, then, as he begins to speak. “Our first date was at the aquarium. It was a really nice day too- spring weather, a break from school after midterms. It was nice. I know Anik isn’t really into anything too high-stakes or adventurous or whatever, and I wanted him to feel comfortable for our first date. And we still managed to have plenty of fun too.” Percy looks away, and says wryly, “Even though I wanted our first date to be a bit more exciting, like laser-tag or something.”
“Anything you thought was particularly memorable?” a voice from behind the scenes prompts. Percy perks up a bit before responding.
“I… yeah. Your face when you saw that huge whale,” Percy says, turning to Anik. Your whole expression just lit up.”
Anik shrugs. “That was my favorite part of the date. Seeing the whale.”
“The whale?!” Percy gapes. “The whale was your favorite part, but kissing me wasn’t?”
Anik gives him a small, amused smile, before jerking his chin towards the cards in Percy’s hands. “Your turn.”
__
Percy purses his lips as he quickly reads the card, eyes skimming through the words. “This is a fun one… how would you describe me to someone who hasn’t dated me yet, but is going to?”
“Like, what advice would I give?”
“You can think of it like that,” the producer nods.
“Well…” Anik begins, “you’re a lot quieter than your first impression leads people to believe, and when it comes to decision making, you tend to be pretty passive.”
“What? That’s not true-”
“So I’d say to your future partner that they’d have to be the more decisive one in the relationship. You also care a lot about what others think of you, right? So reassurance is also good. What is it called… words of affirmation? Yeah, you like plenty of that.”
“Now wait a second,” Percy pouts playfully. “Stop psycho-analyzing me in front of a bunch of strangers on the internet.”
“You also have a tendency to mourn the present. Like, things could be going so well for you, but you’re already thinking about how it’s going to end.
…I don’t know what advice I could give to your future partner on that front.”
__
“Who loved who more?”
Percy lets out a breath, leaning back against the table before reaching out for a bottle. Anik raises an unimpressed, yet completely unsurprised eyebrow. His expression is one of disappointment. When Percy looks up, his face winces, as if used to this expression.
“For the record,” Anik says, “I think I loved you more.”
Percy opens the lid and pours himself a cup. “Loved? Past-tense?”
“Would you rather it be in the present tense?”
He doesn’t answer. He lifts the cup, takes a swig, and places it back down on the table. “Huh. It’s almost… citrusy.”
Anik glares at him. “Answer the question.”
Percy seems to wither under the weight of Anik’s gaze, slightly slinking back into his chair and averting his eyes before finally responding. “Yeah. I wish it was present tense.”
“You’re the one who broke up with me. You don’t get to ask that of me.”
“I know.”
__
Anik lets out a little laugh before reading his card out loud. “Would you kiss me right now?”
Percy blinks at him owlishly before his signature smirk reappears on his face. “I’m not opposed to it.”
“You guys can, if you want,” the producer says; Anik and Percy both laugh. “What, just across the table?” Anik sputters.
Percy shrugs. “Why not?”
Just like that, Percy gets up from his seat, leans across the table, gesturing for Anik to follow. Anik remains seated, hesitating for just a moment before closing his eyes, muttering something under his breath, and meets Percy half-way.
It’s only a tentative kiss, as if testing to see if they still remember. Anik pulls back first, immediately taking a napkin to wipe his lips, much to the shock of both Percy and everyone else in the studio.
“You’re wearing that chapstick I like,” Anik says, as if that was a sufficient enough explanation, and he folds up the napkin.
__
“Who in your circle likes me the least?”
It takes Anik a moment before coming up with a response. “Hmm…. This one’s hard.”
Percy jolts back in his seat. “Wha- What does that mean?”
“I know Cam’s got conflicted feelings about you, but they’re still firmly in a ‘dislike’ position. Though they’re still pretty okay with Jamie and Elio.”
Percy averts his eyes, shame taking over his face. Anik keeps going.
“Reynah doesn’t like you, but not in a personal way, ‘cause she hasn’t really ever… interacted with you much. And then, obviously, my Canadian friends dislike you but they’ve never actually interacted with you, so there’s nothing deep there. Oh, Deja definitely hates you, though.”
“I figured,” Percy mutters.
Anik hums, before leaning against one side of his shoulder, head tilted towards the right. “What about you? Who in your circle likes me the least?”
Percy shrugs. “Neither of them, I guess. They still think you’re okay.”
“Really?”
“I mean, I broke up with you, anyways.”
“I… guess so. I just didn’t expect that. I really thought Elio would hate me or something.”
Percy shakes his head, making a gesture with his hand. “Nah. You know Elio isn’t like that… but uh, does everyone in your group hate me?”
Anik raises an eyebrow. “I wouldn’t go so far as to say hate.”
“I know Deja doesn’t like me-” Percy’s voice is tinged with just controlled desperation “-but what about Cam?”
“Hm,” Anik hums.
__
Percy lets out a long, amused breath as he reads the card. “This is… something. If you could do it again, what would you change?”
Anik purses his lips, tilting his head to the side in thought. Finally, he says, “If I could do it again… I never would’ve confessed to you in the first place.”
Percy’s smile wobbles, though he plays it off by making an exaggerated wounded sound. “Ouch! So cold!”
Anik hums. There is a small smile on his face. He has a little heart-shaped mole on his cheek that lifts upward, and another that crinkles at the right bottom corner of his eye. The producers have to admit, he looks morbidly lovely.
“I knew what kind of person you were. I knew we wouldn’t be compatible. But I couldn’t help myself and told you how I felt anyway.”
Percy pouts. “Well. That’s mean.”
“It’s true, though. We weren’t good for each other.”
__
“Show me your favorite picture of us, I know you have it. My, this question is aggressively forward,” Anik places the card at the back of the pile, chuckling to himself.
Without a word, Percy pulls out his phone and begins scrolling through his gallery before finally finding the photo, showing it to Anik first before turning it to the camera.
The photo is of Anik and Percy with their backs to the camera, facing the open air of the sea: deep cerulean without a cloud in the sky. Anik’s head is facing Percy, while Percy faces forward, seemingly unaware of the other man. Percy wears a bright yellow T-shirt, while Anik has on a green shirt, tucked in. You could almost hear the waves through the photo; the smell of sea salt, the cry of seagulls in the far distance, children laughing and running around on the sand. It was just the slightest bit blurry; the sunlight was harsh and made everything glow, like they were being lit from within.
“When was this?” the producer asks.
“Around two years ago, when we were getting into our third year of uni. We weren’t together yet, but I think this is the moment I look back on the most,” Percy says.
Anik’s face is unreadable.
__
It’s the last question. Percy flips the card, eyes softening. “Are you still in love with me?”
Immediately, Anik reaches for the glass. Percy’s face falls, and Anik takes a shot, considers something, and then pours himself another.
“Wha-”
“I can’t do this right now.”
“That’s unfair.”
Anik’s smile is cynical, almost. “I know.”
Percy places the card back in the deck. Without looking up, he says, “I’m still in love with you.”
“Percy-”
“I’m still in love with you. And I wish we never broke up, even though I can’t be what you need.”
__
Two men walk out of the studio. It’s cold; December is almost over, and New Years is just around the corner. Snow falls lazily around them, like tiny dancers; Anik pulls his scarf over his mouth. There’s a bar just across the street- go figure, he’s tempted to pay it a visit. The warm citrus sits in his belly like an unwelcome friend, and he knows that Percy feels the same.
“I’m sorry,” Percy says.
“About what?”
“That last question. In the interview.”
Anik shrugs. “It’s fine. It was just a question on the card- it’s whatever. Don’t- don’t worry yourself about it. I know you will.”
He laughs, then, and Anik had almost forgotten how much he adored that sound.
“I’m still going to say sorry though, about breaking up.”
A car splashes into a puddle of half melted snow, and Anik startles back, like a surprised cat, from the onslaught of water. “You don’t have to be sorry.”
Percy smiles. “I know. But it wasn’t- it wasn’t you, I swear. You were good to me, for as long as I had you.”
