The Time That Remains is available free on youtube (with baked-in English subtitles). It is a semiautobiographical film by Elia Suleiman, that follows his Palestinian family across the years from 1948, the beginning of occupation to the then-present day in four chapters. I highly recommend it, a favourite of mine.
saw an Online Man (tm) whining that he went into Barnes and Noble for the first time in years and it was all romantasy catering to stupid icky women and it’s like, dude. Do you need me to take your large, soft hands in mine and explain in itty-bitty, dulcet words HOW THE FUCK CAPITALISM WORKS???
And like, not to argue with a dude who isn't here, but does he understand how SHELVES work?! Because I also went into a Barnes and Noble recently, and while yes, there were romantasy shelves and displays, John Grishom alone took up almost a section. Manly man books about manly men doing man things in a manly way with their manly manness are still available. They still get PRINTED. Romantasy is an "also" not an "instead of."
god howwww is star wars so painfully gluttonously overdone while every character it churns out is still the biggest waste of potential in the history of modern media
like no I don’t want this Ahsoka show but yes I do want AN Ahsoka show and no I don’t want the mandalorian to be about Luke but god can someone please fix the damage that the sequels did to Luke’s character and no solo was not a good movie but yes solo was a good movie and I want more out of qi’ra and maul and Lando and no I don’t want star wars to ever touch john boyega again but yes I want justice and visible force sensitivity for Finn and ON AND ON
