Love tuning in to Fallout and watching some phenomenal TV and then going online and getting hit with some fuckass news about some new dogshit Bethesda et al are cooking up for the franchise. I mean I’m hardly surprised Amazon wants to make the Vault Tec experiments real but id hoped Bethesda wouldn’t sign off on literally any fucking idea that came across their desks

Like, isn’t it a *little* lame the Deathclaws are bio-engineered vermin that infest the wasteland? Whatever mystique they had is completely dispelled now. It’s exactly what happened to the xenomorph! But noooo Cooper Howard has to be at the center of everything for some fuckin’ reason

It’s weird how nobody talks about Fallout 76’s portrayal of Chinese communists as comically evil cannon fodder.

The past seems to haunt the world of Fallout in 1,2 and NV while it seems to just be right around the corner in 3,4 and 76. America is a specter on the west coast but on the east it feels like it never collapsed at all. More like the series is set in some kind of failed-state version of America than something post-American. My opinion obviously

I wish they had the T-51b in the show. It’s so iconic and cool looking. Completely mogs that blocky shit they made up for the Bethesda games.

I’m actually enjoying Season 2 Fallout quite a bit but I am not enjoying how fast spoilers are proliferating. One thing I enjoy about the FFXIV community is how opaque they are with spoiled lol like I don’t care for the dogmatic spoiler culture but most of the time I’m only seeing shit shared to farm engagement

You need to actually play Fallout 1 and 2 before you argue about it lmao not just use the wiki

I feel like the deathclaw didn’t need a concrete origin. The mystery of them was so much cooler than anything they can concretely give us. Now it appears they are a government experiment. Either from the U.S. (most likely scenario) or the Chinese (who I don’t think are ever directly referred to as such on screen).

There’s another thing, the show has been coy about naming China as the other country America is at war with. Unless that changes with the next episode, of course. It’s always been just “communists” or “reds”. Does this have to do with Amazon trying not to offend the Chinese or is there another reason for the evasiveness? Or both?

Huge day for white Europeans to act insufferable as if they’re not also complicit

Kudos to the Fallout tv series for it’s uncompromising portrayal of the Brotherhood. I think it’s my favorite aspect of the television series.
