Silco in Tailoring: A Fashion Anatomy
Working years for high fashion brands in menswear and spending Fashion Week close with male models and days in showrooms taught me everything I need to know about tailoring and sizes. Once Arcane gave us Silco, I couldn’t resist treating him like the ultimate study: a body made for tailoring, a charcter with the perfect male model sizes and a so called villain made for the runway.
This breakdown owes its inspiration to @lullabyes22-blog and their exquisite essay on Silco’s physique. That piece gave me even more insight into his anatomy — insights that underline my own studies of his character design and directly support my theory of his wardrobe sizes.
His measurements
Some say Silco is 1.77m (5’8), others swear he’s 1.82m (6'). Let’s call it 1.80 (5’9) — the official model height. And honestly, once you put him in that category, his entire wardrobe basically writes itself: lean, elongated, effortless.
Now let’s start from the ground up.
The Foundation: Shoes
So let’s start from the bottom. At 1.80m (5’9), Silco falls right into the official model height — and with that comes the standard shoe range. Male models of this height usually wear EU45 (UK 11 / US 11.5), with EU46 (UK 12–12.5 / US 13–14) as the upper limit. Silco fits that pattern exactly: proportionally long, narrow feet that echo the lean, elongated lines of his frame. Imagine them in polished leather oxfords, laced ankle boots, or pointed slippers — all sharp, elongated forms that echo his presence.
The Cut: Trousers
Silco’s legs are his strongest line: long, wiry, and deceptively powerful. His thighs and calves carry the true power of his body — the musculature of a man kicking skulls in when words fail. With a narrow waist of roughly EU44 (W28–30) and an inseam around L32–34, his trousers call for slim tailoring, pressed creases, and hems that meet his boots with precision.
For Zaun, he would wear tighter trousers to tuck cleanly into his boots. For special occasions, he would shift to wide-leg cuts or pleated trousers to match his footwear and extend the line of his frame. Fabrics could range from cotton or light wool for everyday wear to velvet, satin, or leather when theatre is required.
The Frame: Shirts
Move upward, and the silhouette narrows further. His torso and chest is flat, arms elongated — the epitome of the “slim cut.” Collar size falls into EU37–38 (UK/US 14.5–15”), essentially a Small or Slim Medium. Here, tailoring becomes non-negotiable: every cuff must graze the wrist precisely, sleeves slim without strangling, seams sculpted to his bone structure.
Fabric? A Zaunite practicality leans to linen and cotton. In more formal settings, they could shift to finer fabrics like silk, satin, or even organza, with details such as lace at the cuff adding a touch of refinement.
The Structure: Jackets and outerwear
Silco’s jacket size is EU46 (UK/US 36R). This is telling: one size leaner than the standard model sample (EU48). His shoulders are narrow (43–44 cm), which means jackets need strong tailoring to give him structure. His waist (~72–74 cm) stays very slim, so the cut has to stay close to the body to keep the shape sharp. On him, tailoring is not mere polish but architecture. Without structured seams, he disappears into fabric. With them, he becomes a blade.
Picture him in a peak-lapel frock coat or a tailored double-breasted blazer — all cut close to the body to emphasize his narrow shoulders and slim waist.
Outerwear is where Silco reigns. His proportions (EU44–46 / UK 34–36 / US 34–36) invite precision: chest 88–90 cm, waist 72–74 cm. To amplify presence, coats must strike mid-thigh to knee, with high collars framing his face like armour. Classic options include tailored trenches, velvet greatcoats, satin-lined dusters, or a double-breasted overcoat — all emphasizing slim lines and precise tailoring to match his frame.
Fabric choice plays a key role. Cotton or wool blends offer durability and comfort for Zaun’s streets, while velvet or satin add subtle depth, texture, and a touch of formality. Even small details like reinforced lapels or structured cuffs can transform a coat from practical outerwear into a statement of authority.
Conclusion
Silco is built for fitted, tailored menswear: slim cuts, structured shoulders, vertical lines, and precise proportions. His character design already mirrors a perfectly tailored physique — in fact, he would naturally fit ideal model sizes. I mean look at that strut:

Silco was hunched over the bar in the Last Drop with his journal open, the room lit only by a few strategically placed lamps. The place was still open for business and Silco rarely idled in the main areas during business hours but it was pouring heavy rain outside, well past midnight already; no one would be coming in. Silco’s pen moved steadily, scratching soft, deliberate lines across the page, freshly filled with ink. The evidence of Silco recently refilling the tool blotted on his fingers.
