i dont like the implication (or just direct statement) that art born from a place of horniness can't be deep or impactful or important. i also don't like the implication that if someone makes a piece of art that blatantly displays the body, including parts that are sexual or sexualized, it must be primarily the result of it being a Secret Sex Thing. its like if every time you saw a nose depicted in art you acted like the art itself must have been made with comedic intent. esp when its art from a non-modern-western culture where expectations around the depiction of sexual/sexualized body parts is different & carries different cultural meanings.

i think my final straw was coming across a post in the wild from a popular blogger that claimed that women who enjoy media of gay men are most likely deeply misogynistic. the reaction to heated rivalry has been absolutely insane. i don’t even care about the show, but this website is acting like seeing gay men having sex with each other is the worst thing that can ever happen to you. it’s so weird?? people on this site are spreading terf shit without even realising it, and i’m done now. fuck this place and it’s constant unchecked radfeminism.

media gets really popular very fast -> a ton of people get into the media -> they make fan content about the media because they like it, -> people who aren't into the media also see the fan content because its so popular, probably find some of the fan stuff kind of annoying bc they aren't the target audience -> after some time, enough people get tired of the media and start to express that -> Popular Media Fatigue starts social snowballing & because people can't/do not have the emotional intelligence skills to just say "yeah i'm tired of this now" they have to invent reasons why the media actually fucking sucks and everyone who likes it fucking sucks and its the worst thing ever made

In general I don't like the ageism of the whole "Everyone is 12" take, but the part that particularly bugs me is attributing adults wanting to be farmers on "being 12." Because, you see, farming is one of the most egregious industries for use and abuse of child labor. There are actually a lot of 12 year olds working on farms, and those 12 year olds absolutely know better than to think farm labor is a relaxing, fulfilling, romantic, "simple and close to nature" lifestyle.
Adults don't romanticize farming because they're childish; they romanticize farming because they're privileged enough to never have had to work 16 hours a day outside. Children who don't have that privilege know better.
