I don't want to be advocating here, but these ppl can just straight be getting boosted. I doubt they'd just cheat after having mediocre acts. Depends what rank you're on too I guess. I never meet any cheaters in immo lobbies.
I know some people don't really like it. (Including myself, because of family reasons.) But I don't find Christmas itself a thing I don't like, it's just that my family makes it unlikeable 😭
