the scent of sugar cookies and gingerbread softly wafted through the house, an airy laugh escaping you as you admire your boyfriend. hansol, focused as ever, decorating the freshly baked cookies with determination. your christmas playlist provided background noise as the two of you chatted, busy with festive activities all day.
“sol can you hand me the-” your words cut short as you feel something tap your hand. the frosting piping is in hansol’s hand, his eyes glowing with the question ‘was i right?’
“how’d you know what i was about to ask for?” he shrugs.
“just a feeling.” you smile goofily at him, taking the bag and continuing to work on the finishing touches of the gingerbread.
he calls your name softly, gathering your attention towards the sugar cookies he took pride in decorating. he knew he wasn’t the best chef— they would burn if he made them for sure; but he helped in his own ways. some were piped with frosting and sprinkles, others with sprinkles only, and some left plain. a few were slightly wonky looking, the frosting messy, but the sight warmed your heart. they had his special touch, a small anxious smile on his face as he watched your expression closely.
“no way.. these look so festive babe you did good!”
“didn’t know it was lie to your boyfriend day now..” he teased causing you to roll your eyes.
“i mean it, they feel very… you. lots of personality.”
