Our league systems

To make playing on ESL for you as exciting and varied as possible, we have different types of competitions to fit your needs. Dividing the skill levels by Open/Major/Pro guarantees that you compete against players on a similar level and leads you step by step from Amateur to Pro status.

  • Cups (ko-system; one- or more-day tournaments)
  • Ladder (ranking system; schedule your matches)
  • League (group stage with fix matchdates)

How to participate

You want to participate in an ESL competition? It's pretty easy. Just follow these steps!

  1. Register for free!
  2. Choose a game
  3. Choose a competition
  4. Use the sign-up widget on the right side of our page
    1. Cups/Leagues: Wait for an opponent
    2. Ladders: Challenge other players or teams by using the matchmaking tools like the Instant Challenger or Matchmaker

How to play a match

As soon as you have an opponent it's all about the match! You'll be able to compete against players from all around the world, make new friends or perhaps even create rivalries. But how does the match process work?

  1. Use the gameaccount to add your opponent to contact him in-game
  2. Create a game lobby and invite your opponent
  3. Set up the correct settings / rules in-game
  4. Play your match
  5. Enter or confirm the result on ESL Play
  6. Did you experience any problems? Open a protest.
