Not enough people in the teen wolf fandom engage with the fact that stiles is actually fucking insane. My man was looking for the other half of a dismembered body in the woods just for funsies in episode one. My man was out here bringing a baseball bat to an Alpha fight. My man regularly threatened to turn his werewolf buddies into fur rugs. Why are you turning him into a sweetiepiecandonowrong?

Turning Red has a 67% audience rating??? Yalls can't handle seeing the immigrant teenage girlhood experience bye

It's really bc of all the weirdos making it about only the period jokes so it's pRobLemAtic for their poor sweet innocent children to watch

Even tho periods happen to girls on the reg

And boys have had puberty jokes in movies and TV since forever and no one blinks an eye

And bc teenage thirst (GIRLS specifically) is uncomfortable for parents to acknowledge even tho its realistic

Movie got hate for being too real bye

as someone who was a wattpad using middle schooler in 2014, the rampant use of ai to write fanfics is disgusting. fanfic needs to be a little cringe. it needs to not make perfect sense. maybe it includes a 2nd act break up and they get reunited bc of a car crash. maybe you don’t get every detail of your character’s life right. maybe she has a messy bun and is in love with the bad boy who stole her bra. maybe you need to think. maybe you need to be creative. maybe you need to exist independently. maybe fanfiction is an art form and maybe it was generally pretty bad 12 years ago, but at least it was real. it’s more cringe to use ai than it is to just write it yourself

closer to heaven, closer to you

Summary - It's 1993. Mike Wheeler's first book was a success, but he doesn't know how to write more about her. His friends' lives have moved on, graduations, jobs, and families, and he is stuck six years in the past. No new work on the horizon, no college degree, Mike returns to Hawkins to live in Hopper's cabin and refuses to see anyone besides Lucas, who is back in Hawkins and starting a family with Max, while he tries to get out of his rut. Dustin's coworker at NASA is headed to Iceland to study geothermal activity, and Dustin encourages Mike to tag along and get some space to clear his head, get outside, and start writing again. Begrudgingly, Mike thinks Dustin might be right, and Iceland is calling to him, the research facility right outside a small town where a young woman has been taken in by two elderly farmers. One horseback ride brings Mike back to the the superhero in his novel, the source of all his inspiration.

Pairing - Mike Wheeler x Jane Hopper

Notes - title inspired by Cowboy Take Me Away by the Chicks. see this post for more information about the story :) none of the photos belong to me

It's literally crazy the fact he can feel her, even when he don't see her. It's partly why I believe in his theory about El survived. Yes, he could be in deep denial. But the fact he always canonically feel her during the entire show give me hope. And with that fact in mind, the idea of the Duffer brothers about El & Mike never see each other again if she is alive is bullshit. Because it is precisely partly due to this ability that they have always found their way back to each other. They are like a single being split in two.

Guys I’m working on a serious Mileven reunion fic, stay tuned!! I have a feeling it’s going to be SUUPPPERRRR long

It’ll take place in 1993, Dustin, Max, and Will are recent college grads, Mike dropped out to focus entirely on writing and returned to Hawkins to live in Hopper’s cabin. He’s gained a lot of traction and been long listed for the Nebula Award, and this generated a lot of criticism about his novel loosely based on El. He’s become reclusive and agoraphobic in response, refusing to leave the cabin. Max and Lucas are also back in Hawkins living with Steve since they are unexpectedly having a baby and Steve is so so so pumped to be an uncle, and they make sure Mike is eating, sleeping, and keeping himself and his place clean. Max works for the department of children and family services, Lucas is a police officer, together they teach self defense lessons for the middle schoolers (Steve helps out with this). Will is an artist in NYC devoted to making art that honors victims of the AIDS crisis and sometimes pays homage to El in his work, Mike really doesn’t like this because he thinks Will is convinced El is dead, but Mike only communicates with him via letter that Max and Lucas deliver themselves to him from the post office. Dustin works for NASA and has a coworker who was doing research on geothermal activity in Iceland, and he returns for a visit and encourages Mike to get away from Hawkins to approach his writing from a new perspective, even offering to pay for his airfare. Iceland is quiet, Mike can have his space to write and recuperate, and most importantly, get outside. Dustin’s coworker has an unoccupied cabin on the research site where Mike can stay. El is in Iceland, having been taken in by an elderly couple who are estranged from their son who moved to America, on a sheep ranch. They also offer waterfall tours on horseback…

"I'd like to imagine that she's in a beautiful land, somewhere far away. She finds a small town to call home. Safe from the danger of the Black Hand. And it is here, at last that she finds peace. That she finally finds happiness."

There's nothing new in human experience, Mr. Tully. Each generation thinks it invented debauchery or suffering or rebellion, but man's every impulse and appetite from the disgusting to the sublime is on display right here all around you. So, before you dismiss something as boring or irrelevant, remember, if you truly want to understand the present or yourself, you must begin in the past. You see, history is not simply the study of the past. It is an explanation of the present.

The BEST thing they did with Lucas's character in season four was making him want to be popular without making him suddenly a dick or making him 'lose sight' of 'what's important,' ie his friends.

He makes it so clear that he is doing this for all of them, and he never stops reaching out. When he finds out they're in danger, he literally runs god knows how far or how long to find them. He never resents Max for pulling away and he doesn't try to bring the potential drama with his friends into the Upside Down.

I love him so much 😭

shut tf up about byler and homophobia and eleven and misogyny bc you all sleep on lucas when he is literally the steadiest, most devoted, thoughtful, and effortlessly funny character in the show and i genuinely believe he gets ignored bc of racism :/ and caleb mclaughlin is one of the most talented actors of the six ERICA HELP is one of the most well acted scenes in the entire show. the fandom shows more appreciation for billy’s one act of selflessness when he was literally an abusive racist (and I understand he had his own shit going on) than they do lucas as an individual instead of lumax. lucas sinclair you deserve so much better
