'Konkret' finds Matthijs Kouw and Phil Maguire returning to the restrained, slow-burning terrain they explored on 2021's 'Isometry'.
Drawn from modular synthesizer improvisations recorded in 2022 and later shaped individually, the two pieces on Konkret are built from patient contours, soft resonances, and small shifts in texture, establishing structures to dwell in.
'Modulor’ takes its cue from Le Corbusier’s eponymous theory of measured proportions, unfolding as a slow calibration of tone and space. '4x4 House' echoes Ando’s disciplined geometry, letting its form emerge through restraint, repetition, and spare gestures to sketch out a quiet frame.

Very interesting soundscape. I imagine the gentle clanging of Tibetan water bowls, water droplet sounds in reverse and the intermittent foghorn. Richard Erickson
This is very pure. I think a structure is slowly forming. It came forward at me, like the slowest most determined tide. Then there were holes in my speakers which the material flowed through. It pooled around me: feet, thigh, waist deep, still coming. leafcutterfan
