i wish people would take oversaturation of advertisements more seriously as an actual issue. you complain about them and people think you're being overzealous about a mere annoyance. no. this is a legitimate aesthetic, mental health, physical health, social, environmental, political, and "everything else under the fucking sun" concern.
Imagine if headphones didn't exist and everyone had their own speakers to hear the music they're playing, but since everyone is playing music, you can't hear your own. So you decide to buy louder speakers. You breathe out in relief as you are able to hear your own music comfortably. A day later everyone else around you did the same and now you can't hear the music so you decide to go for even louder speakers. A month passed and you now carry a power generator and 3000W speakers on a trailer you pull with you. But no one else has any interest in stopping because no one else is stopping either.
