See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

cheshire-cat-talks asked:

I wanna know more about Patience pre-Reaping.

What was her life like before becoming a deputy? Where was she raised? Who were her family; parents, any siblings? Is she still in contact with them? What was her childhood like? Did she have a first love or was that something she'd experience later in life? (aka in Hope County)

Thank you for the ask!!! I have so much backstory for this girl it’s nuts. But I’ll try to keep it brief! (Ok so it turns out his ended up not brief at all, so I put it under a read more…)

Patience grew up in south central Wisconsin. She lived with her mom and dad and was an only child. She was very close with her parents and they had wanted a child very badly but struggled for a few years before they had her. Her middle name is Joy because she was their “joyful surprise”. She was named Patience just because her parents liked the name. She was not raised religiously at all, despite what the name Patience Joy would imply. She was closer with her father, as they shared a love of the outdoors. He took her on many camping, kayaking, and backpacking trips. Her mother came along on some of the local trips, but was less outdoorsy. She and Patience mostly bonded over baking (her mom’s favorite hobby) and shared books and tv shows. Growing up, she spoke Swedish at home sometimes with her father, because he was very attached to his Swedish American heritage. (She also learned Spanish in high school and kept up with it. She’s modest about her fluency level and says she can “get by”, despite having spent a semester in college in Costa Rica and having no language issues at all.)

She went to college at UW-Madison, as did most people from south central Wisconsin. She majored in biology. When she was a sophomore, she befriended a boy who would later become all of her firsts. She considers herself a bit of a late bloomer. She’d continue to date him for most of college.

actively enforced a rule for myself that i can't edit every single sentence until a chapter has been written in all its ugly disjointedness. and actually ended up writing instead of editing every single sentence. why the FUCK does that work
