I have done my research and this is the best starter motor for a Mazda RX8 despite it not being listed as an appropriate part. Check OEM code M1TA0271 or N3R318400 as these are the ones in the last RX8s that were built. I have checked well-known internet auction sites and they are awash with cheap Chinese rubbish. It is a flase economy to buy those and the price with AutoDoc is the best I've found online.

Bought this to replace another 14 tooth starter that I got from eBay and was working great, but that had a cracking speed of 210 rpm. This one spins the engine at 260 rpm and it makes a lot of difference, car starts like a bat out of hell hot or cold. It doesn't have the speed of the Mazda R3 starter, but for the price it's great, will fit all manual RX8 models.
