There can be a few reasons for this:

• a burnt bulb or fuse;
• a faulty relay;
• broken wiring;
• oxidised contacts;
• the lights are not connected properly.

To define the exact cause, check whether the light is properly connected first. This is especially relevant if the bumper has recently been removed. If necessary, install a new bulb. Check the fuse. It is usually located in the fuse box in the engine compartment or under the dashboard in the car interior. Inspect the wires and clean them with a special spray. Measure the voltage on the relay contacts using a multimeter. As a rule, the relay is located under the luggage compartment trim. Compare the received values with those specified by the car manufacturer. If you failed to detect a problem, contact a car repair shop.

The removal procedure may differ depending on the vehicle make and model. Before you start, learn the car manufacturer’s instructions. As a rule, you should do the following:

1. Raise the rear part of the car to access the rear axle.
2. Disconnect the negative terminal from the car battery.
3. Remove the wheel from the side where the spare part should be removed.
4. Demount the bumper.
5. Detach all the parts which obstruct access to the light fasteners. These can be wheel arch covers, mudflaps, plastic underbody shield, and fender flares.
6. Unscrew the fasteners of the light and carefully remove the component from its mounting seat.
7. Disconnect the connector from the bulb holder.

Only use the components the parameters of which comply with the factory-installed ones. It is prohibited to replace halogen lamps with the LED ones. However, this prohibition does not apply to decorative LED strips. As their installation implies interference with the car electrical equipment, it is better to entrust this procedure to professionals.
