Nissan Laurel executive cars production started in 1968 and continued up to 2002. Manufacturing was established in Musashimurayama, Japan.

The first-generation Nissan Laurel C30 cars came on the market in spring 1968. Initially cars were produced in the sedan version, but since 1970 2-door hardtop version became available. Engine was mounted in the front part. Car had a rear wheel drive.

Production of second Nissan Laurel generation (C130) was set up in spring 1972. Constructors made care more economic and eco-safe. Wheelbase was longer on 50 mm in comparison with the previous generation model.

Company started to produce Nissan Laurel C230 in 1977. Car was available in sedan, 2- and 4-door hardtop versions. Massive chromed radiator grille with big cells was its distinctive feature. After restyling in 1978 car got new combined square headlights. An Updated third-generation model was named Nissan Laurel C231.

Fourth generation cars, Nissan Laurel C31, entered the market in 1981. There were 4-door hardtop and sedan versions available. Car became bigger and more comfortable.

Production of Nissan Laurel C32 was set up in 1984. Fifth generation was notable for massive bumpers. Angular body shapes made car look more presentable and strict. Car was equipped with an adjustable adaptive suspension.

Sixth generation models production started at the end of 1988. New Nissan Laurel C33 was produced only in 4-door hardtop version. Car had independent front and rear suspension.

Some cars were equipped with HICAS rear turning wheels system. Front and rear wheels of Nissan Laurel C33 had ventilated disk brakes. Some cars had rear drum brakes. Expensive configurations had antiskid braking system (ABS).

At the beginning of 1993 company organized seventh Nissan Laurel generation (C34) production. Car was available in sedan version. Some cars had sport interior design.

Wheelbase of seventh Nissan Laurel generation models was lengthened on 50 mm. ATESSA-ETS system was transferring up to 50% of torque to front wheels in a case of spin-out of rear wheels.

Car got strengthened a central body pillar, new bumpers, upgraded optics and a new radiator grille in 1994. Car was also equipped with a speed control system (ASCD).

Production of eighth Nissan Laurel generation started in 1997. Wide square headlights with a trapezoid-shape radiator grille were mounted over a massive front bumper with integrated fog lights. Triangular stamping was in the center of a hood lid. Lower doors parts were edged with thin body-colored moldings.

Seats of Nissan Laurel C35 had a good lateral support. Cabin had one driver and three passenger seats. All new cars had antiskid braking system in a basic configuration.

Nissan Laurel C35 production was stopped because of a low demand.

Nissan Laurel cars were also sold under the names of Datsun Laurel and Datsun 200L.
