Microsoft Excel Software Review 2026: Features, Integrations, Pros & Cons

It is very useful for tracking financial status of a project. The auto features and formulas that can be used are very helpful and save time.

Understanding and implementing the formulas can sometimes be complicated. I find that this is specifically a challenge for new users.

This is the single most important tool that I use on a daily basis. The overall features provides so much which saves so much time based on this.

If anything, I find that Excel almost has too many features and tools. This makes it difficult to truly know if I'm doing things the most efficient way possible.

Excel is extremely flexible and powerful for financial modeling and data analysis. Pivot tables, formulas, and charts make it easy to analyze large datasets and support decision-making. It integrates well with other Microsoft tools, which is essential in a large organization.

Managing multiple versions of the same file can sometimes be challenging when several stakeholders are involved. Advanced features require strong knowledge to avoid errors.

Excel was the 1st thing I used for data entry, data management and data visualization like graphs, charts. So, this still is my favorite features of excel. Also, the ability to use was quite unique in Excel.

Least liked: Highly susceptible to human error. for instance: if you use a wrong formula, the whole result will be wrong.

Microsoft excel is a self-taught tool on how to balance your work whether it be finance, clients data, keeping up with provider contacts or simply just having easy access to information.

Learning the workbook fully can take some time. It becomes another skill to add to your point of referencing information.

Excel is not expensive, does the job and calculates a lot so you do not have to! Easy to use as you go and I have never encountered bugs or issues that I cannot get resolved by the support team.

I really enjoy the process of learning something new to keep working daily. I do not like that this takes a lot of time or a quick search to find the exact formula I needed.

The excel Spreadsheet and budgeting items let you create view, edit, and share certain charts and files that you create yourself.

What I did not like the most was the fact that you are not able to control when the spreadsheet would do the calculations and it was hard to figure out how those calculations were done.

I love building intricate spreadsheets that are easy to read and use it for tracking costs and scheduling.

Sometimes I do not know a formula and get errors. This is frustrating, when I cant figure it out. If the spreadsheet gets compromised, that can get frustrating too.

Excel can be used for literally everything in terms of presenting information to bosses or even customers.

There is still one thing that I wish Excel had and that is to be able to increase the digit in a box by pressing a button and not necessarily the new digit
