hey i do cons all year round (art is my job) i was at FCN last year and worked in the AA. It was a lot of fun and i made more than enough to cover cost i would say FCN will be a great first fur con its relatively small but no so small you cant get the full experience. if you plan on doing artwork or working the AA/dealer den i would suggest lots of brightly colored badges and other neat things out on your table you wanna be eye catching and show off your talent at first glance =)
i will be attending again this year and will be in the den feel free to come say hi i dont bite much and like meeting new furs ^^ just go out and talk with people its the best way to integrate into the con and you'll feel at home right away

Generally, I always recommend to eat well, get good sleep, shower at least once... take lots of vitamin C (because con crud is real... and horrible)

but, most importantly, relax and have fun. it has always been a good group of friendly people, but not overbearingly so :)

I have to shower every day, lest I get twitchy. I'll try to relax and have fun, I'm still nervous, but excited!
