FurWriters Announcement: New Submission Systems, Tmi Tuesday
10 years ago
General
Good evening, my dearest and most amiable gentlemen and madams who so eloquently profess their passion for the written word through their endless manifestations of prodigious narratives and succulent poetry, this is your favourite raven speaking,
ed-
This journal has been made as I, alongside the group’s owner,
xSini , have some announcements to make concerning changes in the group’s administration and policy.
1. Concerning Submissions:
It has come to our attention that the current way of handling submissions is hectic and time-consuming, and it did not yield the amount of interaction between writers and readers as much as it hoped it would.
That is why we would like to experiment with a new way of promoting literary masterpieces: Through journals.
At the start of every weekend, we will read through all the submissions requests and select 9 lucky literary works, from 9 lucky authors to be featured in our promotional journal. We would like to experiment whether this would prove more efficient than the existing policy, and furthermore, the certain advantage that it offers is that comments, criticism, and favourites will be directly posted under the original submission.
To be considered for such a weekly journal, you, as the writer must do the following:
1. Write a PM with the subject “Story/Poem Submission”
2. In that PM, you will include a link to your story
3. And below it, a phrase detailing why you think your work deserves to be featured
4. Also provide details pertaining to your story that you would also like to see featured alongside it, in the journal.
Details like 2-3 tags, the theme, the setting, and maybe whatever inspired you.
Note: Should you be accepted for a promotional journal that means that you cannot apply to the subsequent promotional journal. That means if you have been featured in the promotional journal on 7th May, that means that you cannot apply for the promotional journal that is next week, on the 14th of May, but you can apply the week after ( at least two weeks after the first journal you were featured)
If your work didn’t make out in a promotional journal, you can apply again for the next week.
2. Ask Us Anything TMI Tuesday Journal
On this Tuesday (tomorrow) we would like to host an “Ask Us Anything TMI Tuesday” Journal where we will answer any questions you may have regarding literature, writing, or anything else you can think of! So if you want to participated, then prepare your questions, and contribute to the fun!
Either tag me (
ed- ) or Sini if you want to address the question to someone specific of the two of us, or leave it blank, without a tag, and we may both answer : )
Now, I shall leave this journal to my dearest friend Sini so that he may continue with a special announcement he will have to make:
Thank you Ed.
xsini here!
Hello Fur Writers!
It's come to our attention that the literary works submitted through the current “submissions system” including the template isn't as effective as we wanted it to be. Submissions seldom receive feedback; and, due to the swelling number of members per day, it's impractical for me and Ed to continue posting the works of everyone one by one! I'll weep when this system is gone. There are a lot of features about it I liked. Alas. Old inventions make way for the new ones—new ones which are designed, and hoped, to improve the way we feature your work!
Ed has presented to you already the Weekly Journal Submission system. The second system, I'd like to present to you, is what I am coining the Weekly Feed4Feed Journal system.
Question: What the hell is a Weekly Feed4Feed Journal system?!
In Feed4Feed, you give feedback to another writer in return for their own feedback. It's like karma: what goes around comes around. The Weekly Feed4Feed Journal system engages writers with other writers, and inspires a train-of-thought meant to help them critique their own work later on: what do I like about so-and-so's story? Why do I like that about so-and-so's story? What can be improved in so-and-so's story?
Each Saturday, a Feed4Feed journal shall be posted. Here's how it's gonna work:
In the journal, 1. a commenter will post a link to any of their stories/prose/poetry; then 2. a replier will respond to the commenter with a link to any of their stories/prose/poetry; then 3. the commenter MUST respond to, and agree to, Feed4Feed with the replier. I will reiterate that in a flow chart, and also a step-by-step sequence.
Flow Chart:
1.commenter << 2. replier << 3. commenter
Step by Step:
1. COMMENTER: Post a link to any of your stories/prose/poetry in the comments below.
2. REPLIER: Post a link to any of your stories/prose/poetry in a reply to the commenter. Agree to Feed4Feed with the commenter.
3. COMMENTER: Agree to Feed4Feed with the replier.
It is my goal that this system will improve both the quality and the quantity of feedback that you wonderful Fur Writers receive. In this way, I hope to make the group a more interactive environment, and improve the overall feedback you guys receive.
It is our goal—Ed's and my own—to help you excel as writers. I can only hope in our endeavor we're successful.
If you have any thoughts, questions, feedback for us about these systems: POST A COMMENT! We'd love to hear how much you love, are unsure of, are skeptical of, or absolutely hate the systems introduced. There may come a time when we submit literary works again—but for now there we've no effective system for it, thus will not. So y'all let us know what'cha think!
Cheers!

With the Weekly Journals you'll have a chance to have your work featured by submitting it to us before-hand. Here's how you'll do that:
1. Write a PM to me or Ed called "Story/Poem/Prose Submission"
2. In the PM include a link to the original submission on F.A.
3. Why should your work be featured? Elaborate.
4. Summarize the work briefly. (themes / fetishes? tags? inspirations?)
You can be featured in one of these every two weeks tops!
If you're interested in the Feed4Feed, stay tuned for Saturday.
