I Promise I'm Doing Stuff!
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, I know I've only posted three drawings, and one of them isn't even mine, but I promise I've been working on things! Right now, I'm currently working on a sticker packer for the panther I hold so dear to me, and again, just working on guidelines and what not. I'm not posting any of the stickers until the pack feels more ... complete, so just know that that's why you aren't seeing any of them on here. Once that all is done, I'd like to say I'll be doing regular artworks, but that's probably a lie ;n; Because I also want to a sticker pack for Kayron, my beloved derg. But that will go a lot quicker because I'm much better at dragons, so don't worry. Sorry if you don't care about this, I just felt like letting everyone know!
To the Few of Whom it May Concern
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, I'd like to get your opinions on what I'm about to do, but before that this requires some preface.
For literally my whole life, I've drawn without guidelines. At first, I thought it was cool, because I was like, "Yeah! I don't need a stinking guideline crutch! I can do this on my own!" But now, I've come to realize that this is an AWFUL thing. If any of you are progressing on in life without guidelines, please rethink your idea. Without guidelines, not only can you not take from other art styles nearly as easily, but as you try to change your art style, things will begin to sort of deform and you have to spend time fixing that, and as you spend time fixing that, you get frustrated at yourself sometimes just give up, making it even harder in the future and--... it's just a big ol' mess.
Anyway, onto my point--I'm making the switch over to guidelines now. I'm going to do a TON of guideline practice, hopefully, and that's basically all the drawing I'll be doing until further notice for possibly the most part.
So here's my question: would you all like me to post these guideline practices, or would you rather me not do it? Just let me know.
