Furmula One Promotion!
General | Posted 6 years agoMy friend
Masterbucks and I have launched a furry autosports project that had been kicking around in developmental hell for several years, and I'm relieved we finally got this going. It has races (of course) that are simmed using drivers and teams that are submitted to us by contributors and we're currently looking for those contributors! Check it out here and read its first journal!

My name
General | Posted 8 years agoThe name 'JWolfman' has been a major part of my internet persona for about 18 years, since I started logging into the internet (using dial-up!). However, the name fully implies about a certain animal that I haven't really been interested in a whole lot anymore... so I've been having more and more thoughts about changing it.
But it's going to be difficult and requires a lot of thought to change a name that has stuck with me for 18 years....

FBA Player Applications Open!
General | Posted 9 years agoThe Furry Basketball Association is currently on the last 8 or 9 games of the regular season for 2015-16, and new player applications are currently open! Things has changed a LOT since I first joined the FBA some four years ago... the FBA founder, Buck Hopper, had left the project to pursue other projects and there is now a new Commissioner and a five-person Committee, which I'm a current member of. I'm also in charge of the FBA D-League, too!
We welcome new people of course, and as part of the Committee, it will be part of my job to review new character applications. Basketball knowledge is a big plus but is not necessary. If you need help, just let me or the FBA community know and we will do our best to help you.
The link for the application sheet is below:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12R.....K06UE/viewform
The FBA also has a HUGE wiki filled with profiles for players and other NPCs, the 24 FBA teams, and other valuable information:

General | Posted 10 years agoI need an update on my FA icon. I still look pretty much the same, but... bleh. :P It sticks out too much from the rest of the icons on this site (in terms of theme... this isn't Facebook!).
I need a Head Coach!
General | Posted 11 years agoAlright, I initially resisted doing this because I know many of you watchers are not involved with the FBA (Furry Basketball Association), but I'm kinda running against time here as the preseason is starting in less than a month and I want to get some games setup... and for that I need a head coach.
As General Manager of the FBA's Las Vegas Wildcards, I cannot be the coach of my own team... it's my second year as GM, and last season's head coach, my friend Ryden, is going through some serious family issues and I don't know if he'll be capable of being online enough to be involved as my coach again. So I'm asking you for help.
The head coach in the FBA is responsible for setting up player positions within the roster (it's my job as GM to put players in the team in the first place), and allocate how much court time those players can have in any given game. If a player gets injured, it's the coach's job to put that player into Injury Reserve (or Deep Reserve rather). If you decide to volunteer, I'll explain the details deeper.
Information about the FBA: http://furrybasketball.com/wiki/ind.....itle=Main_Page
... and my team, the Wildcards: http://furrybasketball.com/wiki/ind.....egas_Wildcards
It's still the off-season, with the preseason officially starting next month, so the roster is still incomplete. I'm still working on it. XD

FCW is back!
General | Posted 11 years agoAlright, decided for another go at it. The rules has changed, most importantly being that there will be no more 'guessing numbers' to determine match results. Instead the booking will be 100% storyline driven and by me.

Hope third time's the charm....

FCW Again?
General | Posted 11 years agoShould I bring back FCW? After writing a little over half a dozen cards, I burned out to the point of giving up at the end, and then finally I just closed down the account in FA entirely.
I want to know if there's STILL interest in such a thing for me to come back to. But what kind of changes should there be made to it? Take away the 1-100 guess format and make it completely booking-oriented like a real pro wrestling fed would be? That can make things much more storyline-driven in the matches but it takes away player involvement.
One big worry I have is if I return to launch FCW again, I'll burn out again too quickly. I don't know what to do about that one.

6 things you may or may not know about me
General | Posted 12 years agoComment below if you'd like me to give you a number so you can write that many random things about you in your journal.
I was given the number 6.
#1 - I was a cut and dried Hulkamaniac when I was young. I thought pro wrestling was real, so I cried when I saw Earthquake beat up Hulk Hogan on the Brother Love show.
#2 - I grew up living with dogs. My pet Saffire is the first pet I have that is a cat.
#3 - I have relatives living near Phoenix, some 90 miles away from my home though I haven't seen them personally in over ten years. They're friends of my Facebook account however.
#4 - I watch television in only three ways: Netflix, Hulu, and online streaming (for sports and WWE stuff)
#5 - The Amazing Race is one of my favorite shows to watch, and I do have dreams of being in it, with my brother or sister as my partner.
#6 - There was a fanfic character by the name of Jason Wolfman, based out of me and thus my 'fursona'. But he was not a wolf but rather a gray fox.

Rough Draft!
General | Posted 12 years agoThis is just a rough draft for my upcoming idea, please don't take seriously just yet as nothing is finalized, not even the application sheet. If you have any suggestions, please let me know here though!
************************************
Welcome to the Furry Championship Wrestling! This is a general-audience professional wrestling e-federation that plays a combination of dice-rolling simulation and booking-style matches. There will be cards set up just like a real pro-wrestling event, for both 'televised cards' and 'PPV cards'. The application to submit your character is below but there are a few things you must follow:
* Four-character limit per player. Never more than one Main Eventer!
* This is for general audiences. While the matches can be bloody (especially hardcore ones), anything sexually-explicit will end up denied.
* All the characters you submit to the FCW will become the property of the FCW and will be subject to control by the fed owner and regulated fight writers (with ownership approval). This does NOT mean that you will lose absolute control of your characters, as you can still control your characters in promos and outside-ring incidents/reactions. If you want your character to do a certain action in or out of the ring or create a fued or alliance with another character, simply contact the fed owner (JWolfman) with the suggestions and work it out with him.
* If you have any civil questions, give a note to the fed owner
JWolfman and he will try to answer back to you ASAP! Thank you and have fun!
http://form.jotform.us/form/31124991163148
HOW THE MATCHES ARE DETERMINED
There are three basic ways for how the match results will be determined : by booking decisions, d20 rolls and by picking out PPV match winners. Due to the timing of the PPV events, the majority of the match cards will be determined by the d20 dice rolls.
JWolfman will roll two d20 dice thirty times, and will add up the points to reach a total. Before the dice rolling begins however, he will ask all the players that has characters involved in the card to guess a number between 60 and 1200. The closer a player's guess has to the actual roll amount, the better the chance the player's character will win. However, he will roll the dice thirty times for each match in a card, and if the player has characters in more than one match, they must guess seperate totals for separate matches.
Once a WWE/TNA/ROH/DGUSA/etc event PPV card has been set, JWolfman will list out the PPV in a journal and the players will have the option of picking out the winners of the matches. If the PPV has its card changed, then whatever sheduled matches will be discounted in the picks. The player will have to pick out the winners BEFORE the actual PPV event starts, obviously. Each winning match pick will put in an extra 10 points -toward- the dice roll total, giving your character a better chance of winning. However, if you choose a losing pick, that will be a 15 point penalty placed on your points guess. This is all entirely optional, so you don't have to choose the PPV match predictions if you don't want to.
As for the booking-style, those kind of matches will be predetermined, just like in a real professional wrestling fed, but it's only to promote storylines (and jobbers will rarely win anyway... since they're jobbers!).

efedding idea
General | Posted 12 years agoI have made a journal post about this before, but that was almost four years ago so I think it's safe to talk about it again. :P
Wrestling e-feds have been a hobby of mine since 2001, starting with the UCTF that introduced me to this kind of concept. The UCTF involved crossovers from any kind of comic, movie, anime, game and so forth that you could think of, along with completely original characters. I had Fox McCloud in the UCTF for instance, along with Yugo Ogami (Bloody Roar series) and a character loosely based on The Magdalena (Top Cow Comics). They would have wrestling matches and so forth, written by assigned fight writers (it's not like the FWA in which you have full control over your character in what s/he does in the ring). The results are determined by your own writing skill on the week before the wrestling card finalizes, and judged by the head of the UCTF. Alas, after a few years the UCTF dwindled to nothing due to inactivity although I still keep in touch with the fed owner OOCly.
Then I went to the FWA courtesy of
Rusty who introduced me to the group. As evident by the previous journal I wrote, I'm still very much active there and it's very different from the UCTF in that the matches themselves are RP'ed out, not written by a third-party person. The FWA also differs from any other independent wrestling fed in that they lack an actual booker, a specialized referee (unless you count the auto-ref), and assigned matches on an event card like what a PPV would have. The matches are done mostly by 'I show up in the room and want to fight. Hey you, you wanna fight in the ring with me?' kind of invitations, but there are exceptions of course.
The temptation to actually start a fed of my own has crept back into my mind, and this time I want it to be different than the methods used by both the FWA and UCTF. This would be purely simulation, as the matches will not be RP'ed out (unless the players really want to do it, as I would be open to that but I would like to rewrite the match to fit the format of the event card), but the matches will also not be determined by writing skill. I would like for it to be a combination of an actual wrestling fed (as there will be a booker to determine who wins and who loses) and something akin to the FWA as there's nothing fake or scripted about the action there.
I'm thinking about having the match results due to the players involved picking numbers... I have physically two d20 dice, so basically it will be the luck of the draw, and also accurately choosing the winners in the TNA/WWE/ROH/DGUSA/etc PPVs as those events have the matches planned out beforehand with enough time for the players to pick them out before the PPV events start. What do you guys think? I used to be a fight writer for the UCTF so I've done plenty of match-type projects before, and on the application for the player prospects, I can put in what moves the character would most often use (and I can ask the players on what they would like to do in a match without giving out the spoilers on the results), what their behavior in the ring could be, etc. that can help me as a fight writer. I would have to figure out how to advertise... but only once I get this brainstormed and put into reality.

Stuff and Updates
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, after about two and a half years of going through classes online, ranging from career-oriented classes and customer service to specific coding and advanced coding classes, I've finally finished my last class last week and... it's very relieving. The school said they will mail me the diploma in a few weeks and after going through the worst moments (when I felt I'm going nowhere with this) and high moments (earning grades good enough to be in the Honor Roll), I can finally sit back and relax for a little bit before going back to the grind and actually make use out of all this training. Besides finding a new job, I'm going to prepare and train again for perhaps the most important exam in my life... an exam for CPC (Certified Professional Coder) credentials. It'll be through the AAPC and it'll be 150 questions, five hours and forty minutes to complete, and $300 to apply (but at least it'll allow one free retake... heh). A few days ago during my lunch break at work, the CEO of the hospital shared the table with me and my co-workers (cuz he's awesome that way) and I mentioned that I graduated with a degree on medical coding and billing. He congratulated me and said that oftentimes coders earn around $20 or more per hour, starting pay. But he said certification will seriously help me on the job market, so that's one of my next major goals in life.
But right now, right at this moment... I just want to relax and rewind a little, now that I don't have to pour through these books again. Not until I go back to the running.
I have just two RPG projects/obligations going at the moment... one is of course my own RPG, which has just seen the loss of two great players that left due to personal reasons and while I miss them, they are still in good terms and such. The Star Fox RPG is pretty much in intensive care or dead, and out of its ashes is a brand new RPG, my very first one that stems out of an original concept, not one with a Nintendo-made background. It's called Shadow Watch RPG, and it's set in the real-life world in 2012 but with a furre-twist and a few other things that would make it different from just 'Earth with Furries'. It has just four players right now (the people that stayed with me from the SFRPG) and would love to have more serious-minded players that can devote a number of hours almost every Saturday night on IRC. The other RPG I'm involved in is the FWA, and I'm very thankful that the FWA is very freeform... I have no obligation to participate there if I don't want to (unless I have a match date with another player there) but thankfully I do want to be involved there often, as I have been over the last three to four years there. One of my characters is the Heavyweight Champion in the FWA, but I seriously need to have him show up there more often or risk having his title stripped for inactivity. :P Nathan Coyers may be a douchebag of a character, but he's not going to go down without a good fight.
I need to go back to writing fiction seriously... the last project I posted on here, Saffire Ruby, came to an unfinished end and that's a shame because I enjoyed writing that story... my muse for it just fizzled out. I intend to write another furre steampunk-related story sometime... hopefully now that I don't have to deal with classes anymore, this would be a good time for it.
Um... I don't have much else in mind. Later y'all! Going back to work at the hospital soon. :P

Meme Tagged Lylat Version
General | Posted 15 years agoAnd just to the fair, I've decided to do the Denise Lylat version. XD
1) Denise has three brothers and no sisters, and she's the youngest. Funnily enough, she's the only one of the children that decided to join the military, effectively following her father's footsteps.
2) Her father was killed in Vitria when she was a teenager, but the truth behind his demise wasn't found out until she was in her 30s, and learned it was part of a CMF cover-up.
3) Denise and Ja Lacaob weren't the best of friends by any stretch of the imagination when they first met. She was a Colonel, and Ja was someone that was sent into her military black-ops team due to a Committee-related conspiracy move (looooooong story! Very very long story).
4) Denise finally married Ja, and she gave birth to a number of children: Arshallah, Derrike, Nikolas, Lilly, and Kirara. She also has an adopted child named Sirah (her oldest of all the kids), and Gary through another father.
5) Her son Nikolas (played by Aerozaine) became the leader of a secretive team called Inferi Dii.
6) Her Archangel code-name was Haniel.
7) When she was a CMF Colonel, she worked for the Committee as an assassin and Committee Enforcer, and was quite damn good at her job.
8) She suffered amnesia during an Archangel mission, and even to this day, she has a lot of holes in her memory banks.
9) After thirty years being married to Ja, she sadly divorced him (it was partially her fault, partially his fault) and at the current RP setting, she's living alone in Athon, Kanis, Natherica. She still keeps in touch with Ja though.

Giles_F_Ahrun that wanted to know 9 things about Denise. Now before I continue with this, I have to explain one key element here... there are two Denise's in existence. There's Denise McGenesis/Lacaob, whom is my more established character and is from the Lylat (Star Fox universe) version. Then there's Denise Konosso, who lives in an Earth-alt universe and is a member of the FWA, or Furry Wrestling Alliance. Since Giles only knows the FWA-version of Denise, it is the one that I'll talk about here. I'm stating this because some people in my friends' list only know the FWA Denise, and some only know the Lylat Denise. Be careful, folks! XD
1) Denise has no siblings, but was raised in a large family in Vacaville, California, complete with cousins, uncles, and grandparents in the same house.
2) While she calls herself a member of the Greek Orthodoxy faith, she's actually fairly agnostic.
3) She was in the military (US Army) for eight years, having left in 2002. She was never deployed overseas, and never experienced actual combat.
4) Other than the FWA, Denise participated in a number of wrestling feds in California, Arizona, Washington, and Japan. The highest profile feds she participated in (besides the FWA) was New Japan Pro Wrestling and Dragon Gate USA.
5) She has friendly rivalries with Tony, Maria and Timiko, but also has her own share of enemies... like Shinya, whom almost broke Denise's neck one time.
6) She's bi-sexual. Nuff said. Her parents are still in denial though.
7) Denise owns a notebook journal that she calls her 'Bucket List'. Because of her high-risk style that is borderline insane, she suffered a laundry list of injuries and concussions in the past, and she firmly believes that she'll die before the age of 40 (she's 32 now).
8) She has no children, and no actual interest to marry.
9) In sexual situations, she prefers to be submissive.
And I tag... um, well since this is a FWA post, I'll tag some of the FWA friends I have here. :P

Pimping a friend!
General | Posted 15 years agoA friend of mine is open for commissions, she's rather new to FA but has been an artist and best friend for close to ten years. She's
Aerozaine and she's open to oils and watercolors and so forth! Watch her too, she's pretty awesome IMO. XD You can note her, but she prefers email, which is Aerozaine[at]gmail.com , and if you're interested, contact her and give her an idea on what kind of commission and medium you want.

I'm thinking about redesigning the setting this story is based on, while keeping the steampunk aspects of it relatively intact. I've pretty much lost a lot of motivation to continue the story on, and feel that it needs a lot more fleshing out and development. I'm not going to remove the chapter entries from my account though, but rather just move them to Scraps to organize the Submissions section on my profile page better.
FWA
A sizable number of people in my Watch List are involved in the FWA as well as I am, so they should be aware by now that I've been taking a break from it for the time being. I've brought in a new character named Laraje a few nights ago, but I rushed into it and as a result, the character just seems too unfitting even for the craziness of the FWA. I couldn't gel with him as good as I could with characters Nathan and Denise, so either I'm going to push on with Laraje and hope the situation improves, or just shelve him as a failed character experiment (like with Xavier). Denise will come back to the FWA eventually! I've enjoyed playing her more than any of the other characters I've created, including Nathan.
E-Fedding
My previous journal spoke of this at length, but creating my own e-fed is still alive in my mind, even if it's often crowded with other stuff going on with my life. I'm actually thinking about talking to the folks at the FWA about this, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't join in my own e-fed because it's going to have a very different concept and set of rules than what the FWA is used to. In the FWA, it's centered around cyber-fighting... this e-fed idea however is going to center around the players making up stories/promos and have them judged the winner or loser through fight results written by someone else. So it's like apples and oranges, folks.

General | Posted 16 years agoOne of my main online hobbies is being involved as a player in an e-fed, which is like fantasy pro-wrestling in a sense. I've never ventured out to actually start up a new fed on my own (save for one attempt that ended before the first card due to lack of enough applicants). I intend to change that soon, but the reason why I'm writing about it here is because this new idea I have involves anthropomorphic (or furry, blah blah) characters as the participants, and... I'm looking to see if there will be enough people willing to be involved in it.
The premise of playing in an e-fed is simple. When a 'card' comes up showing your character is going to be fighting a match against another character, that means you will be competing against that character's player to win the match. You can write simple 'trash-talk' posts in the forum board called promos (as long as they're done ICly! lol), or involve your character in a story plot, which is preferable. I'll write up sample posts in the forums to give new people an idea on what to expect, basically. E-fedding is sort of like role-playing after all, in some minor sense.
Then by the writing deadline, either me or a backup judge will compare the two writing attempts (can be just one post against another or multiple posts) and whichever is the most interesting or best is the winner of the match. I will then write up the match, pitting the two characters together like in a wrestling match and we have the winner.
I have been playing in an e-fed since 2001, and I feel I have the patience and expertise to start one on my own. I just need players.

First... Journal?
General | Posted 16 years agoIt took a little over two years for me to post up my first submission to FA (the Zeo Contest story I did for Barrin84), and now a first journal entry. XD
A n00b question...
1) How can I link multiple submissions together? I've seen artists do it with multi-page comics, and it's important I know how because I'm posting up The Saffire Ruby chapter by chapter.
Um... that's about it.
... hey everyone gotta start somewhere ya know. >_>
