*Insert that one Danny Devito gif...I GET IT!*. I just binged all of the anime available so far on Netflix. This show is a wild ride, in a few places I cried irl tears. I have a severe chronic dry eye issue irl so anything that makes me actually cry is rare and good for my physical health. But hell, it felt like a better Zootopia catered to adults. At the end it teases more to come in 2026. I want it now lmao. This was just a PSA that the last furry (me, Nikita) to not catch up with or even see Beastars at all finally has, loved it, and can't wait for more! Apologies for this journal's formatting. Today I have turned 33. To some that sounds really old. To others that sounds really young. Matter of perspective. But yeah, it's my birthday today.

I am alive. I am for the most part well. I hope you all can say the same, and if you can't I hope things move up in the world for you in the new year. There's a lot of uncertainty for me in the next few months, things causing big anxiety in my personal life (not talking on the national or global level) the may very well hinder me being "for the most part well" but I'm going to strive to take it all in manageable chunks.

My resolution is to lose some weight. I've started dieting during the holidays (kinda stupid, I know) and hope to see results in the next few weeks and months ahead if I stick to it.

I just uploaded a wonderful commission of Kira, commissioned by a friend from an artist a lot of you will probably recognize. Money is tight and I don't have a commission budget lately, so it's probably it for the year, but we'll see. I usually try to commission SOMETHING with a Halloween theme, but think financially it'll be a pass this year.

Been sick for 4 days.
Decided to test myself.
Turned up positive.

I'm PISSED. I wash my hands as much as a heart surgeon and I stay up to date on all of my vaccines. Fatigue/overall weakness of the body, cough, congestion, and headache are the main symptoms. I asked family that had it (not family that lives with me so it didn't spread that way) and they told me for them it lasted about 2 weeks, but it can vary.

FUCK ME.

Past couple days my furry urges are in overdrive...interpret that as you will. ;)

You know how on the default browser pages, home screens, etc, you get "news articles" that are really just advertisements used as click bait?

Every time I open my web browser now I get something on the home page about STARFIELD. Because obviously it knows I frequently play videogames. All these "articles" about Starfield while it's still in early access (or whatever you call the advance play that premium buyers get) is freaking hillarious.

For the record, I'm going into the STANDARD edition of Starfield BLIND on the 13th or 14th of the month or so (it launches on the 6th and 2 days later I go on vacation, so I'm electing to start after our trip). I want to mainly remain in the dark and discover the game myself...so I'm avoiding so many streamers I would normally watch cause the whole planet is playing it xDDD

On Friday (the 8th) we're driving up north to the New Hampshire lakes region for a getaway on the lake, in the mountains, beautiful scenery. We'll be there till Wednesday.

Lots of people have vacations in the summer but we purposely scheduled ours for right AFTER Labor Day to deal with fewer crowds and certainly FEWER CHILDREN (schools will be back in session).

I'm shy about sharing irl photos online, but it's not something I'll NEVER do....so maybe I'll get something in my scraps but idk.

In the spirit of the "holiday" I'm prone to eat micros today.

I called in to quit today after getting in trouble for a mistake at the register last Sunday and calling out sick yesterday...I needed a mental health day but I had to say I was physically sick due to the ever-present stigma around the seriousness of mental health issues.

This was not a light decision and I made it with input from friends and family.

I am PROUD of lasting as long as I did and RELIEVED to have "me" time to recover from the stress and emotional toll this job has taken on me.

Massachusetts is an "at will" employment state so I am not legally required to give 2 weeks notice. Money will be tight but for now I'd rather be happy and poor than working and miserable.

I worked 3 six-hour shifts 3 days in a row rounding my first work week off at 18 hours.
It was hard. Tremendously hard. I LITERALLY cried myself to sleep after my first shift.
But you know what? I think it's gonna work out and I'm extremely proud of myself!

For anyone saying "only 18 hours" or "so what?" please take into consideration that I am extremely anxious by nature, especially in social situations and I haven't had a job in nearly FIVE YEARS.

Fingers are crossed that I don't have a journal soon saying no job. Haven't worked in a long time and I'm hugely anxious and nervous. I start Thursday.

...but who isn't?

I don't make journals regarding this type of thing often. I have major stressors that aren't normally present and won't resolve for a good deal of time. This journal is here in case anyone wants to leave kind words of any sort to someone feeling out of sorts and uncertain about the future. I'm not in total ruin or anything, but it feels like a stomach-wrenching coin flip of whether my life is going to continue nicely or spiral into a bad place.

I AM safe.
I am NOT depressed. I'm still enjoying life moment-by-moment and day by day as I can! It's huge worry and anxiety not tied to depression that is eating at me lately.

I was born on January 30th, 1992...whelp, dang, that's 31 years ago now! Last year was like "Crap, not in my 20's anymore" now it's "Holy crap, already a whole year into my 30's".

To some of you this is heckin' old, to others I'm still a youngster. Wherever you fall on the age spectrum, thanks for stopping by to wish me a happy b-day!

2022 was a good year for me. I know people love to list all of their grievances from the previous year and say how awful it was BUT...my year had ups and downs but it was overall good. Hope some of you can see the positives of this past year yourselves.

It may be petty to some, but perhaps my most major and time consuming accomplishment this year was keeping up with work as an officer in My ESO guild. For those who have played MMORPG's, you know that social guilds are major part of it and the short of it is, for ESO, that in ESO some guilds like mine are super serious about things. It's a huge social connection in addition to my furry friends that I've chatted with almost daily all throughout 2022.

So yeah...proud of video game thing. It is MY life and that's how I'm living it.
