You can upload music to FA, apparently!
General | Posted 2 weeks agoI didn't realize this was true, but apparently it is. I've posted some songs.
... That said, I don't know if people actually use FA for music?
I'd like a place to post my work that's not aggressively corporate but which has some networking features -- does anyone have a recommendation?

Oh hey, it turns out I like BlueSky a fair bit!
General | Posted a year agoHey! I'm still on Mastodon (https://dragon.style/@pyrex) --
But I'm also posting to BlueSky a lot lately, and like it a lot! ( https://bsky.app/profile/nyeog.me )
See you around, if you find me!

Welcome back! Let's correct some FA misinformation
General | Posted a year agoIf you're seeing it, FA is up!
Correcting some FA hack misinformation I persistently see:
- The hacker has not been identified.
- The hack did not "cost $300,000."
- We do not know how they got access to the account.
Details:
1. The hacker has not been doxxed. Some doxx were posted by a twitter account named NullBulgeGroup, in the form of a collage of Reddit posts, KF posts, Twitter posts and GitHub screenshots. The operators of this account also operate nullbulge.se. (some of the evidence was posted there at a link taking the form nullbulge DOT se SLASH <image filename>.png)
Examining the collage will reveal: there is evidence linking the KF user to the Reddit account, but there's no evidence linking the accused KF user to the Twitter account and no evidence linking the accused KF user to the GitHub account.
A section of the doxx labeled "Literal proof of being the hacker" appears to be a blank gray box that is part of KF's base layout. It contains no information that could be used to identify anyone. (and indeed, contains no text at all)
2. The only source for the claim that the hacker lost $300,000 is the hacker. This is after the hacker posted screenshots purporting to be their cryptocurrency balance and someone pointed out they lost $300,000 that day, according to those screenshots.
The hacker's initial explanation for this was trading losses, although the UI affordance in the screenshot looked to me like the UI affordance that portfolio monitoring platforms use to represent losses due to market price fluctuations.
Those screenshots were probably not real: among other things, they implied the hacker had $15,000,000. Even if they were, it's not obvious how the hack would have affected the hacker's cryptocurrency balance. Based on how implausible this is and how the hacker doesn't seem to have understood the images they posted, I choose to believe the entire crypto story is fake.
3. The only people in a position to know how the hacker got access to the account are the tech team who have a legitimate reason to access it. We have no statement from the tech team, or from Luffy who was communicating with them.
The closest thing we have to a statement on this is from Susan on the GoFundMe, who admits to being very nontechnical. She claims "Know it wasn't as simple and someone having a password. It was done maliciously using very personal information and fraud." (https://gofund.me/b5b62ea0)

New story
General | Posted 2 years agoHey! I wrote a new story for Xyln.
I don't upload fiction to FA, usually, because it gets much more traffic on AO3.
You can click here to see it there!

General | Posted 2 years agoHey! I wanted to get this done by the end of June. Looks like I did it over July instead.
Well, everything's up!
I'll make an ID card and a new journal announcing who I am and how to contact me pretty soon, but in the meantime, to those who've been watching: my gallery is now up to date!

General | Posted 2 years agoHey, thanks for your patience! I've got about 20 more things in the hopper, and then I should be caught up. Hope you all remain well!
Uploading again!
General | Posted 2 years agoHey! I promised Mechagoomba I'd upload all my backlog during Pride month. There's no way that will happen because I'm like a year behind, but I made a spreadsheet of what is already up and I intend to do a batch a day for a while.
Some of you may have seen glimpses of me during the night and I'm pleased that soon you will have access to a complete collection.

Enable me!
General | Posted 4 years agoBehold: the Redis logo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redis.....Redis_Logo.svg .
I'm looking for someone who will draw my bat (1) hugging it (2) fighting it. This would be two separate images in the same style.
I'm thinking flat colors, kind of cartoony -- think "telegram sticker" level of quality. Ideally the logo isn't drawn -- it's just the plain image file sort of shopped in.
Any takers? I can post my budget, but you can probably just assume I'll pay what you would usually expect for this sort of piece.
(As a bonus, if you can include a PSD version that would enable me to swap the Redis logo for something else, that would be great!)

To get a few things straight
General | Posted 4 years ago- i'm magic
- my species exists to prey on yours
- you are not designed to be able to resist me
- free will is an illusion
- look at my eyes
- here is another illusion
