I selected 'artist type' as 'Music Maker' since that's the one that fits the best, but I dabble in many arts, some of which don't even appear in the list. I guess as I post stuff to this site I will probably find some way to sort them into categories:
I write music, and love to sing and play acoustic guitar, as well as messing around with a few other instruments. I'm currently in a band called
tanblacktan, playing stripped down acoustic covers of popular songs with my long-time friend and musical collaborator
gsd / Halex. I also used to play bass guitar and sing in a band called Newspaper Taxi (RIP). I hope to include some of my band's music here, as well as my own 'Music' projects, both solo and with other friends.
I think of myself as an artist in the kitchen, I love to create new dishes and paint with flavours and textures instead of colours and shapes. The 'Culinary Arts' section of this site may have recipes I've created (or adapted, or just adopted) as well as photos of some of the stuff I've done.
I also design clothes and sew, including commissions (though not fursuits - sorry, too much work!) My work involves not only machine- and hand-sewing but also painting, dying, bleaching, printing, and whatever else I need to do to get the effects that I want. So... 'sewing' doesn't really cover it, I'll call it 'Fabric Arts' instead. In this section I intend to put photos of some of the things I've designed and sewn, both for myself and as commissions, including the fursuit I designed and made for myself.
I write poetry (often as song lyrics) and prose - one day I hope to write a novel. I'll use this section to post stuff belonging to the 'Literary Arts'.
I draw too, though not very well - but every once in a while I draw something that turns out alright. 'Visual Arts' is kind of broad, especially since a lot of the cooking and sewing projects I do might fall into this category as well, but this will be a catch-basin for anything that isn't already in a category. I've written/drawn a couple of comic strips, that'll probably go here rather than in 'Literary Arts'.
So, yeah, blah blah blah. I intend to use this site as a way to showcase all the stuff that I've done and perhaps collect ideas for more stuff in the future! I hope you enjoy.

Tan Black & Tan - upcoming new music announcement! (G)
So,
GSD / Halex and I have finally started to seriously work on some music together - we're calling ourselves "Tan Black and Tan" and are planning a small recording session next month, and fairly frequently after that. We tend to perform stripped down acoustic covers of popular songs... a lot like what I was doing, but now with extra Halex goodness. :)
We're also starting to prepare places online for people to find our music, including on FA - we now have a page here:
TanBlackTan
So, anyways, anyone who is watching this journal because of the music - I know I have been all but absent for a while, but there is music coming in the near future. I'll point to it from this page, or you could just go directly there.
Thanks!
