Homosexuality In Religious Debate and Ignorance (G)
The big debate seems to be nowadays that God and/or The Bible does not support homosexuality. I wish to shed some light in this seemingly dark void of ignorance. While he may not be saying, "Go ahead and have all the gay sex you want." Jesus does teach that nothing is greater or more important than love (Mark 12:28-31). It also even says that the one who loves another has fulfilled the law, to owe no one anything, and that the Ten Commandments are all summed up in love, for "Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law" (Romans 13:8-10). Throughout the book of Galatians, Paul talks about how we don't live by the laws of the bible anymore, for Jesus put the slavery of sin upon himself when he died on the cross. He says the only thing that counts now is faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6). On religious people, there -are- gay Christians. There is substantial evidence in the Bible to support that God loves gay people, that every form of love is okay, that the Bible is centered mainly around love, and that it should -not- be followed like a rule book, but more of a guide. In the Bible, Jesus himself is asked of all the the commandments, what is the the most important, Jesus answers only two things, love God with everything you have, and love your neighbor as you do yourself, he says there is no commandment greater than these two, nothing overrules them. "Well we don't want our children subjected to seeing gay people together." Children being subjected to love? Who wants to live in a world where all anyone knows is hatred for each other, because that is where that kind of thinking is headed. My personal philosophy on matters concerning what most see as unusual or out of the norm is this, as long as it does not directly harm anyone, or anything for that matter, physically, emotionally, or mentally with pain or anguish, it is fine, therefore, Homosexuality is fine, speaking logically by that philosophy.
The bottom line is this, no matter who one is or what one does in life, there will always be haters out there, so best just to live life and enjoy the great things we have been given such as love and intimacy.
