Here's another version of my carny dude, this time decked with some rather Brett Booth-esque gear, and some weapons.
Yeah, the "armor" does nothing to protect him, but the warrior saurians of this world don't really need any armor once they become skilled in the use of their weapons. Since this is the "scalesuit" version of this idea, the loincloth goes between his legs and is tied to somewhere in the back (I need to design how that would look).
I was rather inspired today to continue working on this idea, and I'm really pleased with the results, specially after countless tries in the past that went nowhere. After more than a year of doing almost nothing, it is some much needed practice. Hopefully I can keep it going so I can start drawing again for myself and possibly others. There's still things to fix, like that lower jaw.
Not sure how feasible all those straps would be. And I wonder how one could go about crafting weapon props out of a light material like a light wood or something. I certainly would have to get a bank loan to be able to get this guy constructed.

good work on the muscles, tho I agree the sheer number of straps might actually get in the way; I think a single strap, rather then a double, would be workable on his right thigh. I'd also suggest that since he has "x" straps across his torso, perhaps a small strap across the small of his back could be an anchor for the loincloth?
If this is still a pencil, give the strap going under his right arm more room underneath - it looks as if it is going INTO his armpit rather than around it. Right leg straps should link to the sam-browne belt thing so they don't slide down his leg as he moves.
Nice concepts here, I'm really liking his look!

You should try to get those straps working cause i think they would make the suit look that much more bad ass. Meaby you can find a bunch of belts cheaply to make them from.
For the sword meaby you can find a good plastic one and just add the handle and paint it, carving wood this accurately could be difficult

Just two hints:
- The fencing stance for right-handed sword fighters is with the right foot to the front (So that is where you may want the ankle-plate unless you are left handed). Reason is being bigger reach, for you want your leading hand higher up on the sword grip.
- Also the wrist-guard: Myself at least 90% of hits in that area was received on my leading hand, tho mostly due to my own unexperienced errors :p Still, if you hold the sword on the off hand side it is your leading arm that gets exposed (The most basic stance is with the sword slightly to your right, so that it automatically is already in position to block from that side)
ANYWAY, sorry for the rant ^..^
