I got really excited and inspired when I saw this short: http://mashable.com/2013/01/14/rha-sci-fi-short/
I also wanted to get back into practice with Paint Tool SAI so this is my warm up before commissions today ^^ I hope they make a movie and I hope they make it good!!

i remember seeing the short on youtube. (i think i may even have downloaded and saved it).
i didn't know about the page you pointed to. or any of the other things it said about it.
especially that it had been made that long ago.
25 years, that would be 1989. i don't think we even had autocad 3d yet then. or 3ds max. and if we did, that would mean rendering on something like a 486 or a sun workstation. which would have taken like over night to render each frame. (which pretty much explains why it was that short. well anyone who could have afforded the software, what there was of i then, could probably have afforded to build a render farm, which i'm guessing they probably did, but still, it would have taken a good chunk of forever)
i remember thinking this is wonderfully believably alien.
but now that i come to find out that, i mean that is totally jaw drop.
the first thing i remember seeing that was that believably photorealistically alien, was dark crystal, and that was done with muppet technology. and that was in the mid 80s, only a very few years before this.
anyway yes, you did a beautiful portrait of this character.
