For this week's artjam, the theme was my personal rendition of 80s and 90s cartoons.
I decided to choose the often mocked and parodied Captain Planet and to do my best to adapt him to a Modern Day setting. He is a badass hero that is often taken for granted imo; the power of an entire planet at your fingertips is nothing to sneeze at! =)

To be fair the whole team played sidekick to Planet.. I personally would of made them a strike force like the X-Men or the A-Team with Captain Planet only being a last desperate attempt to defeat a powerful enemy. ^_^

that is true, I had some of both, had the doorway that cap falls through into a tub of sludge(basically flavorless green mushy jello though inedible) one of my fave toys was I had the rat guy and his copter, that was a cool piece. Oh the cartoons of the 80's and 90's, need a good channel that shows nothing but those cartoons
It's mostly a little gathering on Skype we started up, a way for everyone to keep skills sharp and to just share our creativity with different subjects; it's an optional activity, but it forces me to try and draw something at LEAST once a week, which I don't mind as much.

Now this is how Cap should have been, more kick ass and less campy. I'd both love to see and fear to see a remake of Captain Planet and the Planeteers, maybe Cap with a little less weakness to ALL pollution... I mean the guy got his butt beat by basically mud once. Also I know there are fans out there that want the evil Captain Pollution to make a comeback, guy was like the perfect Bizzaro to Cap's Superman.
