I have no idea why I had to draw this apart from procrastination on finishing a bigger artwork. Yes, he only has 7 legs; it was a horrible accident and he'd prefer not to be reminded of it (or maybe the artist is an idiot and forgot to draw one!). Jumping spiders are best spiders.

I'm not a spider fan in general, not an arachnophobe though (I'm the chief spider removal officer in my house). But jumping spiders are so damn cute ;_;

Just remember they can't hurt you :) They're very harmless. But I know, phobias are awful.

maybe the poor little cutie has been defending himself and lost one, you see spiders with missing legs all the time. or it could be in a unseen position behind him.

I recognized the species right away. I've always liked jumping spiders because they look and act like odd little machines, plus a jumping spider named "Jumper" turned out to be a "Hero" in a Piers Anthony "Magic of Xanth" novel.
