Moderate Painterly commission for

I have a few more artworks that I've been neglecting to post, so I thought I better get on that already. XD This was a really fun one from Tani a few weeks back, which shows Cynder (from the Spyro universe) interacting with the one and only Ridley (which is from Metroid, of course). Apparently Cynder gets a little nuts when she is as big as a mountain, so what is a tiny dragon to do? Oh right, eat some mushrooms and grow himself of course. XD This is the first image of two, the latter of which will be coming in a few months time (hopefully). :D
I had a LOT of fun with lighting in this one. Blood moon lighting? Check. Super glowy mushroom lighting? Double check. STARS AND NIGHT STUFF!? Which I've been totally obsessing over lately!? Triple check! Aaand now I'm in the mood to go play Spyro. :D

YES! :D I had never even heard of Cynder before this commission, probably because I never had the original playstation and therefore never got into the series. But now that I've been looking up stuff for it I really want to play. ; ~ ; If only it was ported to steam, then I could buy it and have it sit in my library like ALL the rest of my games. XD
OH, well that makes sense then. And which game did she have her adult form in? Since I think she's normally a stubby little dragoness, right?
Right after writing that comment I browsed ebay looking for the original game and year of the dragon. I actually found a lot with both disks for $24... tempting. XD

She was an adult (well, trapped in a corrupted adult form) dragoness in the first Legend of Spyro, A New Beginning. She's a little chubby one in the sequel, The Eternal Night, and a teen (and playable character) in the last game of the trilogy, Dawn of the Dragon. The last two were/are available on Wii, but the first one is from the previous gen.
Well, the setting is actually an alternate universe where the land of Nintendo is regulated and protected by a not-secret organization called the NCIS (for Nintendo Critical Intelligence Service), and Cynder and Ridley are part of it. Which can be problematic as they have access to various vaults containing various potentially dangerous items like the Mega Mushrooms. Cynder is supposed to be denied access to them as the more she grows the more powerful and evil she gets, but as she's addicted to them, she sometimes feels her authorized weekly dose isn't enough and manages to gain access and cause some growy shenanigans.
