He is. And I didn't notice this the other day, but he's looking at something off screen. Maybe someone has something he likes.
And this is a perfect shot too; it's so hard to find references of otters so I can get some respectable fanart done for the Redwall novel series I love reading so much.

I hadn't thought about it, but yeah, it is kind of difficult to get good reference photos of otters (little buggers never sit still, even when they're sleeping). As I recall, he was looking at the spot where the fish and squid bits usually appear from... it was almost lunch time, and the keeper was approaching.

This really is a great shot, Stitch. I'm still amazed at how close you can get, it's really impressive. It looks like he might have splashed your lens a bit, though. And although I've mentioned it before I do think you have a good sense of lighting, I really like how the sun shines off his fur.

As a side note, "Nose goes 'beep'" in one of your responses made me laugh.

Well, thank you... I'm always happy to share whatever shots I get that turn out okay. Lighting is one of those things I wish I had more control over, since it tends to ruin many of my otherwise favorite shots (it's partially my fault, since I'm not as skilled at adjusting shutter speed as I ought to be).
