What do you feel inside when you fail? When you got rejected?
Burned your wings by false desire and attention and be grounded by despair?
What becomes of characters that didn't fulfil expectations and "failed" in the eyes of an artist? Mostly thrown away in a trash can, put in a subfolder or even completely deleted. At least forgotten in the dark to never be used again. Even when you liked the character, the expectations were different from what you brought to life with your art. Or at least you think so. What would they feel if they were alive? Looking up to you, eyes full of tears, crying not to forget it?
Sometimes it is better to review a character. Put it out of the trash and think anew. Give it another chance. Love it the way you liked it, not others want it to be.
Desire for attention, fame and winning may pretty fast kill a character you would've liked otherwise.
And be careful with Christmas times coming up. Don't gift real living pets mindlessly. When they're rejected due to boredom and disappointment, they never grow their wings back. Candle may fly again, but real pets suffer and die.
