My mother wanted one and after looking at all the adoption agencies in our area we adopted Shadow from Love and Second Chances. He is a Formosan Mountain Dog that was rescued from Taiwan, I think from a small village where dogs were either abused and/or eaten. The breed itself is from Taiwan and they are originally wild pack dogs. But when the Dutch I belive came to do what most colonial ducks usually did, they brought their own hunting dogs and the two breeds mated. The Dutch had these dogs called flying dogs.

Anyway the breed itself is really cool and the poor baby we got had a lot of trust issues. He panics when he sees belts and canes and he also hides every treat you give him. He has had training and for a lot of things he is obedient and then others he isnt. He hates Asian people. More specifically older Asian men with canes. We have to walk him in remote areas because he has bitten someone before. He is only 7 months old. But he is really sweet and such a cuddle bug. I can't imagine the horrible life he must of had before.
