I needed to make a deer tail for a cosplay I did at PAX West. I did Lunara from HotS, a dryad with a long deer tail. I was nervous about working with faux fur for the first time but it actually wasn't so bad. The fur was expensive but the white husky at least felt amazing to the point that I didn't shave the fluff at all, though I know that's often recommended for fursuit stuff. I'm not sure if it's as big a deal for tails though? The brown grizzly, a little less so but not bad.

I still had plenty of fur leftover after the con (I always end up buying way too much as a precaution) and Halloween was coming up so I made some more for some generic faun/satyr costumes for me and my boyfriend. Also I...somehow misplaced the Lunara one so I had to make 2 instead of one, only to just recently find it again in a drawer. And I still have more fur leftover! Albeit not much of the white, but I figure I can just make a bunch of stubby bear tails, or maybe one big otter tail or something with the rest of the brown grizzly.

The two smaller (regular-sized really at 4-5 in. including fluff) ones are actually the exact same size, I must have just taken that picture at a funny angle. I'm keeping Lunara since I still plan to wear her and I'd like to keep at least one of the spares for future costuming purposes, but I'd be willing to sell one of the smaller ones since there's only two people in this household and neither of us has two tails.
