FSA Mid-Season Update
Good Afternoon y’all to the mid-season update of the first season of Furry Soccer Association, where furries from all over the world and especially America play soccer, and what a blast it has been so far for the first integral season to promote the sport, we’ve had crazy score-lines, end to end action, whitewashers and some shockers. It’s been a rollercoaster ride so far.
And what better yet than to review the teams progress so far.
1 # Ottawa Lumberjacks
The team waving the Canadian flag proud are the Ottawa Lumberjacks with their new rookies for the team performing well than expected it’s no wonder the fans love them so far. Lee Enright who is one sneaky fox bagging a whopping 16 goals this season. England may be looking to call this star striker up to future World Cup.
But Enright is not the only one in good form, the Finnish Grey Squirrel Aappo Pekkanen who showed quickness in his pre-season game showed some great skills to get himself 12 goals in his tally.
Their German goalkeeper Andreas Tannhauser is doing fantastic work to keep the conceding goals ratio down and make them a force to be reckoned with.
Star Player: Lee Enright (ST)
2 # Baltimore Flame
Baltimore Flame are having their first incredible season as they are unbeaten in eleven games reaching the halfway stage. With eight games to go, the Flame will to keep on burning for the rest of the season.
Not only are they unbeaten but they are so far, the lowest conceding team in the league with nine goals against them.
Hwang Min-Yoon has been a clinical assistant since he first signed up for the team, he showed fluidity and footwork to help the team get some goals. And who better than the Aussie Kangaroo rookie Max Humphries who delivers some amazing shots in the penalty area. I don’t know what the Aussie have in the morning but it seems to be working.
Nicole Estrada, a female Guatemalan Toucan has also shown some good shooting skills along with Max Humphries, these are the reason that Baltimore are the underdogs to win the title and with only one point behind the Lumberjacks, this could be a neck and neck race.
Star Player: Hwang Min-Yoon
3 # Jacksonville Titans
A decent third spot halfway into the FSA season and the Titans are standing up to the pressure well; Zoe Garforth, Sheltie Collie is another English player that has displayed a promising attraction to soccer in Jacksonville. The fans seem to love Garforth with her ability to finish crisply. With a decent double figure of eleven goals into her tally she really is the “underdog”.
The skilful Brazilian armadillo that is Jose Manquillo has scored a few goals for the Titans but is the key player to help control the midfield and as a team captain, he is not bound to roll over and let you kick the ball, he has shown clean disciplinary to help the Titans flow into the game.
As the second team behind Baltimore Flame on the number of goals conceded, they could be a dark horse to chase down the top two to reach the play-off final.
Star Player: Zoe Garforth (ST)
# 4 Calgary Lynx
From the first six games of losses in the season, you wouldn’t think that the Lynx would end up here, before their new manager Aero joined the team things have turned around quite successfully. Their fear of conceding have plummeted and the will to play soccer at the right time has helped not only the fans but the club themselves from disarray.
Players like Canuctus Nikklasson, Josh Boulevard and Syam Mathlouthi have finally established themselves in becoming the team to watch out, from zero to hero, Aero is slowly heading towards that target.
There may be eight games left but can Calgary cause a major upset and beat the odds?
Star Player: Canuctus Nikklason (ST)
# 5 Washington Patriots
It’s a shock to see a team who they thrashed above them in pre-season end up in this position, things haven’t gone plain sailing behind the scenes in the Patriots stadium, big stars aren’t performing at high standards, huge expectancies off fans deliver promises, but this has not been the case so far.
Despite Leipold Madrigal, Brett Tremblay and Nicolaus Shulte being the big stars, is it too much for them to handle at this stage, has the pressure got to them.
Madrigal has by far been the most impressive of the Patriots whilst around the field seemed delusional. They’re going to need to act fast on field before things could get worse.
Star Player: Leipold Madrigal (MC)
# 6 San Diego Dockers
The Dockers have so far forgot to release their anchors as they are positioned in sixth place, the club have been circled with rumors that some star teams are considering leaving the club at the end of the season.
From the position, I can’t quite argue for the fact that this is troublesome for the Dockers. Jaeger Mayer seemed to be their only hope in the strike force to help the team perform well. But even he is considering leaving the club.
With total unrest lurking around the team, will this hurt them coming towards the end of the season with eight games to go?
Star Player: Jaeger Mayer (ST)
# 7 Detroit Delta
With a team to score and concede so many goals, you must wonder how an earth can they keep this under control. An Average team comes to mind in this situation and sadly, ever since the draft hasn’t been kind to them so too has the season.
The only player is Adam Tatham who seems to be the only decent star player to help his teammates, but the team themselves need to make a decent finish in order to prepare for next season.
Will they get better finding someone in the transfer market to help them?
Star Player: Adam Tatham (ST)
# 8 San Antonio SC
It hurts pretty much a lot to see a well in form striker such as Sean Sandoval having a time of his life with 12 goals under his belt this season. You would think with a player with such class it would help San Antonio reach new heights, I can’t argue with the Australian Cattle Dog for his effort but his other players have let him down massively from where San Antonio are.
Alongside a decent player such as Gundrun Gunherskey made a tremendous start with the team, but two new players can’t change everything, soccer is a team game, and from the position that San Antonio are in, it’s not quite pleasing to the eye.
Star Player: Sean Sandoval (ST)
# 9 Indianapolis 500 SC
Indy should stick to Speedway Racing than Soccer since they’ve been the second worst team in the FSA so far, not to mention not a lot of crowds coming to the game. It’s becoming a disarray for Indy and it seems they’re doesn’t seem to be a gameplan.
With poor moneymaking business for a soccer club, they should rely on Indy Car racing. Unless a miracle happens and they start winning I sadly can’t see it happening.
For me no star player should be mentioned.
# 10 Phoenix Athletic
Phoenix “Pathetic” Athletic, have been so far, the worst team in the FSA with a diabolical two points in their points tally, and both of those points came to draws. Not a single win has been delivered to the club and its grave concerns for the club and city itself. And to make matters worse they are the worst conceding team in the FSA, talk about earning records the wrong way around.
It doesn’t help either that the players look like Semi-Professional or Amateurs from the way they’ve been playing. Conceding penalties, getting red cards. It’s hurting the fans more than the club. I fear for the worst for the club’s future.
No star player mentioned I’m afraid.
So lets take a look at the stats of the important top five in mid-season for the players.
