I've never had a hypno subject get stuck, a couple times it's gotten too much for them and they've just shaken off even fairly deep trances. A big thing with hypno is, it tends to act as a shielding. There are things one simply wants to do but cannot, due to social pressures, do. The process of hypnosis, amongst other things, removes those social pressures and constraints by permitting a different narrative. E.g., hypnosis freed (in our example) Star to do the baby talk she wanted to do but was afraid to do. If Star were suddenly at her job with urgent emergencies to attend to, that baby talk would vanish instantly, possibly without even a nose boop.
So don't care. I'm going to have to get hold of Draco and get him to remove her "return to normal" trigger. This is just too KY00T!
And no, I'm not serious about getting her stuck this way permanently, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want on some level to be able to do it. The fun part is if her nose is her "on and off switch" for this from now on, and touching it throws her into baby talk mode until she touches again. I change and put her in the crib for the night, kiss night night and tap her nosie.... Instant baby until 7:30 AM. (This would of necessity have to be consensual... It's not fun if it isn't fun for everyone playing.)

Oh, I know. Our scribe often amazes me with her story plot twists, and I had just woken up when I wrote the original stuff, so I should have kept my fingers off the keyboard, and just let it be.
I agree, though, it would be fun to have an 'on and off switch' for her baby mode.

I don't know, it seems believable enough, with a good hypnotic subject and under the right circumstances. Hypnosis can do a lot if the subject wants it to work and can relax enough to give up some level of control. I've had at least one subject keep typing a different name for themselves in chat despite being aware that it was the wrong name.
I know that hypnosis works, believe me. However, for Star not to know that she was speaking baby babble, to not actually hear what was coming out of her mouth, and to believe she was talking adult when in fact she was talking baby babble, I just don't see it.
But, as Sammy said, when the animals start talking and wearing clothes . . . I guess anything goes, right?

except the original suggestion was that she was to hear herself speaking normally but actually everyone else hear baby babble so that folk couldnt understand her, Draco changed that in this page but originally he intended it for star to think she was speaking normally
I know, but I also know that when hypnotized, you still hear and think rationally, you are completely aware of your surroundings, and you would hear that you WERE talking baby talk, and you wouldn't think you were talking normally.
At least, that's been MY experience, but then again, I've never had anyone hypnotize me to think that I was talking like an adult and baby babble was coming out. For me, I don't think that's possible, since I would actually hear what I was saying.
But, then again, in this world, I'm sure you have pilots who are porcine.

I'm pretty sure whether you hear what you're saying depends on the subject. Some people seem to naturally go one way, some the other. At least in my experience. But getting someone's perceptions to switch; letting someone recognise what they're saying if they didn't initially, has always seemed to be a big challenge.
If it was anything like a party game I used to do (with subjects believing they're speaking a foreign language; but that's pretty close to babbling), I think the instruction Draco gives her in the second panel would have taken a lot of work to set up; or caused enough confusion to have her spontaneously revert to normal. (Certainly, if someone's natural tendency is to hear what they're actually saying and you tell them to think they're speaking normally, or vice versa, there's a good chance of the suggestion not working at all)

Oh my gooooodd...she is the cutest lil kitten ever! <3
*piles lots of stuffies and big, soft jingly toys around her*
Long time reader, first time commenter, but this comic (the bf sent me a link a while back) actually helped me become more...accepting of my little side and curious to try new aspects of it.

SOOOOOO much Awwwe! Also, I really love that it seems Star has been more accepting of her little side lately, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that whatever was in that bottle will seal the deal rather than scare her away! Awesome job as always, Gem! Keep up the great work, I'm super eager for the next page!!!
