After the fall of Paradise, Napier was cast down, and banished to the Abyss. There he was made prisioner for a century. Demanded by the darker forces there to rennounce his soul, he refused. For this he was punished, and tortured. The darkness took its toll on Napier. Slowly driving him insane. His crys for help where never answered. Several Abyssal Dutch Angel Dragons tried to convincing him to renounce himself but he continued to refuse. Agaisnt all odd's Napier managed to will himself to break free of his bonds and escape. But it came at a cost.
Upon awakening escape from the Abyss, Napier found himself on Terra during the Second World War. Much to his joy of his escape, he discovered a unravelling truth. He lost his ability to speak. And much of his fur had turned black with the taint of the Abyss. He tried to take flight to find isolation. But the shackles on his wings had taken their toll. He required time to heal. He found himself near an airfield in south east England. He took refuge within a hanger and slumbered around large, brutish aircraft, large prominant chins.
As time went on he observed the day to day occurances of the airfield. Watching groups of these aircraft fly out or Sortie, counting them as the left and returned. Some times they all came back, other days many where missing. Napier found some fun in hiding the humans tools. And playing ball with the humans pet dog. Though he was within the confids ofthe Aether. He was still able to manipulate things to a degree on Terra.
One fatefull evening the aircraft formed up to leave, Napier was desperate to follow. With a painful stretch of his wings and a swift flap he flew to the skies once more. He followed the mechanical beasts till they came across another flock. The machines battled in a dogfight. Engines spitting blue flames from their pipes. Cannon and machine gun fire lit the sky on fire. One by one they fell towards the ocean below. One that Napier knew was struck. And tumbled to the ground crash landing. The pilot escaped but mortally wounded. There, underneath an old oak tree the human slumped. Within his dying moments, the humans soul was begining the release itself from its physcal shell. The human began to see the Dragon, though he thought it was nothing more than illustion of blood loss. He began speaking to the Dragon. Near death. The pilot handed over his blue silk scarf. And flying goggles. Looking back at his wrecked machine. The manufacturing plate was visable through the cowling to the engine. 'Napier – Sabre' Followed by the serial numbers. The pilot dubbed his new friend 'Napier'.
Upon passing on to the Aether, Napier took his soul to Paradise.
