Azar had been traveling with fellow dragon Meldoru to bring the odd but brave creature/guardian Fenrum back to the family he's meant to serve. Along the way, the three came across a village that offered to house them through the night. The people were very, very generous by providing meals for them all, and owed such bountiful harvests from a nymph that watches over their village. After getting a bit lazy and spending several days at the village it was beyond obvious that they generosity of the people was quickly fattening all three of them up. Despite loving the food and the kindness of everyone in town, Azar pressed for them to leave the village before they became too gluttonous to continue onward.
The trio snuck out in the morning, but their escape came as an insult to the nymph who watched over the village. Using all the powers of nature at her command, she attacked the overweight dragons and their plump companion. Despite hefting many more pounds, Azar and Fenrum managed to protect Meldoru from any injury and defeated the easily angered nymph. Thus, the large-bellied companions continued on their quest.
