The old keep that rested against the Kinto mountain range had long since been abandoned by it's creators. The encroaching hoards of Orcs had driven them back, forcing them to flee, yet even after leaving their lands the magical wards that protected the keep remained to this day. Their magic was far more than the orcs could handle, and many did not even know of it's existence thanks to powerful illusion wards. Yet such a treasure would not go untouched forever.
Erebus, an astral dragon known for his love of lore and magic, heard rumors of an abandoned keep still packed full of magical tomes and artifacts and knew he had to investigate. For such an out of the way trip he even brought along his 'assistant,' the lovely Cyandi, even if he worried that she might get into trouble.
When the pair arrived there was no Keep to be seen, but Erebus could sense the great magic that kept the space hidden. Not wanting to cause damage to the keep or the wards of the castle he spent a few hours preparing a series of spells that would allow Cyandi and himself to slip inside the wards without setting them off. The girl was impatient, but the dragon was able to settle her by promising to let her keep some of the magical trinkets that they would likely find inside the castle.
When at last they were able to slip inside the dragon was awed by just how much had been left behind. Rows upon rows of books stretched through the massive library located within, as well as many pedestals and display cases of old magical treasures that had not been of any use to the fleeing inhabitants. Erebus was quick to begin pulling books from the shelves, using his magic to handle the fragile tomes and keep them well preserved. The ancient script was a language he had studied before and he was quickly engrossed in reading a few of the more interesting books. Cyandi on the other hand had been told not to touch anything just yet until he had a chance to catalog the artifacts.
The girl grew more and more impatient as the dragon looked through the books, her eyes moving to the rows of artifacts laid out nearby. When she saw something of particular interest she couldn't help but to call out to the dragon, who could only reply to her distractedly. Cyandi would give a small huff before at last beginning to slip away, making her way to a particularly interesting treasure....
