aaaaaa man brother!!!!! and don't feel guilty picking things up that stupid people throw away. If I made a list of items people threw away and the Red Sea and of the city. I have people screaming! My personal favorite is their son decides to start a band and when he's not home. They throw out the equipment I am literally not joking. This is the only explanation for several pieces of very expensive incredible condition band equipment that I've found in some very strange places. There's a particular stretch of highway 2 times along about 150 foot stretch ive found a number of pieces of equipment for a rock band. Each time my initial reaction was pulling over and stopping and proceeding to walk up and down the side of the road looking for somebody that is been hitchhiking and been hit by a car and proceeded to roll them in the ditch.thars no house in either direction for quite a piece so it basically looks like what you would see where somebody's hitchhiking while packing band equipment and it each time. Everything was in good working order and really nice shape.the rich people keep throwing out very nice guitar amps once again, nothing wrong with them were talking brands like Peavy, and trainer.1 had a bad looking cord, which would've cost $10 to replace with a new one standard removal three prong cord that goes on any computer that I've got boxes of. Second amplifier required a external transformer that normally would run you about $15. Once again I have boxes of that stuff. I figure they weren't happy about little Jimmy learning to play the guitar or at least attempting lol. Don't get me started. How many lightweight high-end bikes I've gotten with a flat tire or nothing at all wrong with them that look like they've never been used.oooo i love the uneducated and rich.i haven't bought in anything new in regards to clothing other than shoes in the last 10 or 15 years technically I've bought new clothing just at secondhand stores where the stuff still have the tags on it from the other sure. I've even gotten brand-new shoes at a couple of secondhand stores. You really find your self going WTF when you find several bags of clothing out on the side of the road and you find out most of the stuff still has the tags on it from Walmart or someplace like that.i periodically pick up things like clothing, which goes to a guy I deal with who sends clothing to Africa and i quite frequently pick up wool blankets and when I get the chance, drop them off at a couple donates and sites.i remember the salvation looking at me like I was on crack when I brought in several moving boxes full of wool blankets and the van loaded up at the time was around 20 or 30 blankets altogether that I picked up over in the condo district.i haven't found out where the local homeless outreach centers are or I would just take the blankets over their same thing with winter jackets.i see pretty scary stuff during snowstorms in the wintertime.
I miss those things at thrift stores! see value village got wise to the hipster crowd started charging insane prices which the hipsters happily pay and so Salvation Army in most cities price matches with value village. Cheapest jacket you can get at value Village is about 20 or $25 pants start at $10 shirts are starting out around eight or $10 last time I was in there. I can remember when a jacket would run you two dollars or less pair of pants or shirt would be about $.50.we have a thrift shop called new to you, which is a charity that works with people who have down syndrome, and so forth the slap in the face is whoever started running the place. A few years ago stopped having any of the mentally handicapped employees visible to the public used to be the mentally handicapped people worked out in the public side of the store, but they're all Hidden and away from the public. They started that about three or four years ago. It's something most people probably wouldn't notice but somebody like me picks up on right away. It's the only thrift store. I know of. You can get a jacket for between five and eight dollars pair of pants will run you about two dollars shirt will run you two dollars or less.
did she buy the car for 390 or is she fixing her friends car?ive literally been in a position more times than I can count to buy a really good Japanese car for between 150 and 400 but I'm scared to death of having an accident with one!!! when you're in a junkyard as often as I am you know way too much about small subcompact vehicles especially the difference between what the crash test ratings are and what reality is. ive seen people sell a car that would've been worth around three grand foe 200 because they hit a deer with it and to fix the damage. If you did it yourself would be laughably cheap.i can go too McNaught's scrap metal and by a engine bonnet and a plastic front shroud for one of those Japanese vehicles for around 100 or less ;) .if u know what to look for it simply a matter of investigating to see if the deer took out the radiator or damaged the front read support. You're generally in a pretty good spot. If the airbags haven't gone off.
Who are we to judge the frugal?
There are plenty of rich people who spend their money buying and owning mansions that take up so much space but can only house between 20-50 people in comfort.
And that's despicable because it's just so wasteful on the owner's money and on resources that could've been better spent on other, beneficial and more meaningful things.
A mansion is the equivalent of a golden gun waiting to be fired in someone's foot.

What's also sickening is that people like that can order a banquet to be prepared that can feed at least 20 guests, have it all to themselves, and then throw it all away because there's no way in hell they'll finish all that food before it spoils.
That's arrogance which openly flaunts wealth at the cost of other people's hunger.

microwaves are one of the things admittedly, I'm scared to death to buy one used. I know too much about radiation . Then again the microwaves that I've been using. I'm sure nobody want to get a Geiger counter near it.my late adoptive father screwed that microwave up when it was about a week old. I think my late adoptive mother even had a few fires in the damn thing.it does some pretty unpleasant things now and then, but it still works so I've never gotten rid of it. God knows how radioactive the damn thing is.
Microwave ovens aren't sources of radiation. They work by flipping the polarity in water molecules, repeatedly, several dozens of times per millisecond, which is what makes the heat.
Also, so long as the cabinet of the microwave is undamaged, there's little danger, apart from how they're dangerous to people with pacemakers. They use only electromagnetic energy, which cannot leak in great amounts through metal, which is what the cabinet of a microwave is made of. If a microwave is damaged, then it just won't work properly. This is likely due to the magnetron being damaged (the thing that emits the microwaves). If it is damaged enough, then it just won't work at all.
Either way, the one I bought was a really expensive model. Its dial control had just become a bit fidgety. All it took was for me to take the front off and tighten up some screws. A microwave will last for decades. Just keep them clean, and never ever run them empty. Running them empty can burn out the magnetron. Letting them get too dirty can lead to carbon inside the oven, which can lead to sparks and fires.

admittedly, I originally thought she was buying the car at a used car lot didn't realize they were at a thrift store.she is my kind of woman. I don't think I've ever met a woman who would be comfortable level. All that excited about shopping at a thrift store other than my sister. Most women I've known over the years were pretty uncomfortable about thrift stores. I've known a few that were in really bad spots and I ended up giving them clothing because I knew they weren't comfortable about shopping at a thrift store. One girl I remember in particular, eventually got over it. She only had the close she was presently wearing and one of her friends loaned her some stuff to wear so she could wash her clothes. Long story that nobody probably wants me getting into.she at the time. Basically wore the same size pants as myself, so I dug her out several pair of pants and a few shirts that didn't fit me anymore but would still fit her.
A good quality leather jacket should be 600 or more new. People who ride motorcycles wear those as armor, and when your safety is on the line you really can't afford to skimp out. But you can usually find it for much less used. The one I got was a famous model from an old and very respected brand. It's old and beat up, but I managed to restore it somewhat. Doesn't fit me anymore though, so I flipped it and sold it online and made a nice 100 dollar profit. Buy low sell high, just how I like it.
