Crimson Dawn
7"x5" matted to 10"x8"

This painting was a fun experiment with a different colour palette. Daniel smith's Piemontite genuine, and red fuchsite genuine were the main pigments. Genuine goldleaf and schmincke aqua bronze were used for the gold accents. Very shiny in person, I'll have to photograph this!

I thought it would be nice to paint a spotted hyena in the same spirit as my snow leopard with a halo. Hyena's are often perceived as villans but at the end of the day they are just animals trying to survive just like any other.
