I've been a longtime fan of Raji over on Hentai Foundry, of their work on fantasy critters like Bugbears, Goblins, Hobgoblins and the like and close to four years ago when they first set up their Patreon I jumped on the chance to pledge to them and to get some work done. At the time I was very much big in to the legend of the Five Rings setting, even having been taking part in a D20 campaign in the setting so naturally I chose to get Artwork done of my Scorpion Clan Bushi, Bayushi Tajima.

The character was a fairly basic one, a dedicated warrior type who fought on behalf of his Clan and for the Empire as a whole, though often times resorted to dirty tricks and underhanded tactics to come out on top. This of course was Dishonorable, but among the Scorpion Clan Duty and Loyalty to one's clan and the Empire outweighs notions of Honor. The only real idea behind the character I felt was unique, was an idea I had of having the character visibly disfigured with his left cheek's flesh being noticeably absent, revealing teeth and raw muscle beneath, something he was able to keep concealed via a large variate of masks, each one handmade to be able to 'seal' that area so he might speak without much indication of his deformity, and even allowing him to eat and drink while wearing it, albeit carefully.
