She got kicked to death by random college students to give wolverine an excuse to go kill random college students for revenge in the same issue. Came out last wednesday.
They fridged her in the most classic definition of the term and a lot of people are unhappy about it. The current run of X-men is absolutely going to be retconned as soon as it's done though, and supposedly she has a movie coming out, so she'll probably be back in time for her movie later this year. If future writers even acknowledge this death as happening, the editors don't do their jobs anymore.

oh god, ye thats honestly the worst way to deal with her character, even worst as a plot device, but ye hopfully they redeem her before the movie comes out, but sadly im not up todate with xmen since the X- MAN event started, just not what i found worth reading, but thanks for filling me in, now i need to do her more justice cause thats bull.
Give Shark-Girl some justice while you're at it! https://imgur.com/a/19rex
She's one of the students at the school and one of Wolverine's students, though the only truly good book with her in it is the six part "Spider-man and the X-men" mini-series. She's okay in some other runs and super cute at the lunch table in the currently ongoing "NextGen," but only shows up at said lunch table in NextGen.

speak of the devil, Marvel just announced they are cancelling the entire x-men line and launching new #1's in July with a new writer, meaning they have to wrap up the entire current plot in 2-3 issues or just leave it unfinished.
They just relaunched the x-men line late last year, making this the second relaunch within 12 months, and the sixth relaunch in the last ten years.
To say x-men has been struggling is an understatement. Jonathan Hickman is the new creative lead and writer on Uncanny X-men, no telling what the other books are going to be.

That's awful, but at the same time I'm wondering if they did it because it would (attempt) to make or give Wolverine an event to again show how cool/dangerous he is or should be, or if they did this because she's an "animal-based" mutant and it's the norm in most geek/nerd circles (or our modern society in general) to treat ANY anthropomorphic (aka "furry"-like) character like...well, like shit due to a disconnect with nature and the omnipresence of technology in our current day and age, due to how furries are depicted in the media?
Or is it because the writer, artist, editor or all of them having a hate-on for Wolfsbane and wanting to yet again sell up Wolverine?

I mean we currently have our girl here played by Arya from Game Of Thrones in a goddamn cursed movie that has been delayed 4 times now with no hope of box office success and is likely to be put on streaming with Artemis Fowl on Disney+ if they've worked something out with HBO to get the streaming rights to it. Jack Russel AKA Werewolf By Night whose another Marvel werewolf superhero, likely to show up in the upcoming Moon Knight series on Disney+. Our girl's son, Tien, who is dead currently in the comics. Her sons' father, Hrimhari, the Norse Wolf Prince that impregnated her in X-Force Vol. 3, #1-3 (2009) and sold his soul to Hela, Goddess of Death. Lastly, we have Beast Boy from DC who can turn into EVERY SINGLE FURSONA.
But yeah I'd say it's going pretty well
