Written exactly 2 years ago, Feb. 3/2008, as part of FAWM (February Album-Writing Month, a spin-off of NaNoWriMo - National Novel-Writing Month). Feb. 1 and 2 left me wondering what it would be like being a groundhog on Groundhog Day. Sat down and wrote this song the next morning.
A couple weeks a go I happened to have access to portable recording device of decent quality, and the desire to record all of my original songs with it - just quickly - before returning it. This was one of the songs - and probably the one that took the most takes and sounds the worst of all of them! But... it's topical. I'll post more in the next little while. :)
Groundhog Day
Here we go again
It's gonna be another one of those days
Wake up and yawn
Stretch my legs and take a look outside.
