Peaceful Picnic
"It's not often we get to take some time off and relax, enjoying just the company of each other and the beauty of nature." The lion sighed contently as he sat down on the blanket he and his husband had set up, placing the basket down in front of him before getting out the bottles, cups, and some of the food.
"Indeed so." The dragon chuckles softly as he sits down on the opposite side of the blanket, popping open one of the bottles and filling up both cups as the lion holds them out for him to do so. "I am happy we have the chance to do this, traveling around and performing heroics can tend to wear one down after some time."
"But we're not in that particular vein, dear. I'm cut of much tougher cloth, and you much more so. Not to mention the training we've both gone through." The lion smiles, handing one of the filled cups to the dragon after he had set the bottle down. The dragon takes the cup, then the lion gives him a quick kiss on the lips, making the dragon blush.
"Ever so sweet, Rail."
"Only as sweet as you are, Delga. Now then, a toast." He holds his cup up. "To us, a long and bright future, and much more."
"Hear hear." Delga nods, raising his cup and bumping it against Rail's. "To us." With that, the couple took a hearty swig of their drink, enjoying the picnic immensely and ending it with them in a cuddle session as they laid there for hours, content to just be in each other's arms and company as they idly watched the sun begin to set. Truly, they could not be any happier.
