Emperor from the south – Kayrcarom the dragon
Kayrcarom. The first feral character I did when I was just 14 years old and just started dreaming about dragons. The blue dragon has come a long way since he was born, being at first a small and tender dragon that was just beginning to know his wings and imagined a distant future where those same wings would lead him to freedom.
Kayrcarom is the son of a male sapphire dragon from the Pyrenees mountains and an emerald female from the island of Great Britain. After entering adolescence and learning to fly, Kayrcarom embarked on a journey into the unknown, guided merely by instinct and destiny. For years and years, he wandered in search of a land to call home until the blue dragon literally came to the end of the world.
His journey had taken him to a cold paradise of dark trees and huge mountains, a pure Eden nestled between the ocean and a long mountain range that separated him from the rest of the world. And beyond, there was nothing more than ocean (the almost exact place is the Los Lagos region in Chile)
In that virgin land the blue dragon established his domain and rested after years of travel. Although he was still an immature teenager who had to prove his worth to deserve the territory he claimed.
But staying in his new territory was not just smiles and happiness, for decades Kayrcarom was forced to defend his territory against other dragons who longed for a piece or all his domain. Not to mention that, even when very young, the blue dragon was also threatened by other predators, finding himself multiple times fighting to also be worthy of his own life.
And each of those struggles left a mark on the scales of the young dragon, but whether they were victory or defeat, each scar was a teaching that nature gave him. And with each day more alive, with each new scar, the blue dragon was stronger and wiser.
Until one day, nothing and no one dared confront him. That day Kayrcarom realized that he had left his youth behind and had gained adulthood.
Looking at his reflection in one of the lakes under his rule, the blue dragon observed his scars, marks of so many struggles, so many adventures and challenges. All over a glorious body that had grown strong, muscular and showing with absolute pride the colors that it had inherited from his parents.
Feeling the fire in his chest more alive than ever, the great dragon gives a great and powerful roar, spreading his wings like a fan. A single thought was formulated within him "I am a living glory", proud of every stumble and victory that had led him to be a true dragon.
Kayrcarom also felt deserving of being part of the land he called home. Now every creature, tree, and lake were completely his. He was now the emperor of the cold forests; his claws and fangs were the justice and law that no one would dare question anymore.

This drawing took a little longer than usual because it is very important to me and modernizing my dragon was quite a challenge. Other than that, I really cared that Breise liked my dragon too.
And, if you have noticed, my dragon has winglets haha. When I designed Kayrcarom more than 10 years ago, I did it with fighter jets in mind. My dragon is designed for a somewhat slow but extremely agile flight, adapted for the strong winds of the Andes mountain range. He also has a heavy and strong construction, capable of withstanding abrupt landings.

Dragons usually have large chests because of the huge lungs and hearts needed to feed those powerful wing muscles. And I also like to draw big wings because they look majestic, in addition to the fact that it is more realistic for a creature that big to have epic wings ehehe. He looks positively stunning; Honestly one of the best feral dragons I've seen in some time! I love how you designed his muscles, the size of his chest, the flow from body part to body part - It all looks so fantastically natural // realistic.

Thanks a lot! I wanted to give Kayrcarom all the characteristics of an adult dragon: strength, pride, wisdom, among other things. And I think it turned out pretty well ehehe. His body has also evolved, from being a pretty and cute creature, to a powerful and imposing dragon!
Cougars is what the blue dragon feared most when he was young, a fight between a dragon and one or more cougars has to look brutal. The positive thing is that predator fights are almost never to the death (unless one side definitely wants to expel the other from their hunting grounds)

Ehe, aye! 'Quite cute when he was young and very imposing now. - Also incredibly majestic! He'd be an amazing sight to see in the air.
Hmm.. Whurf. Yeah, I could imagine that being a potentially very violent fight. Such is true, though, that they would likely not fight to the death lest chasing one another out or they were truly desperate for food.

Ehehe and with those winglets on his tail he looks like a gigantic kite. Kayrcarom is quite agile in flight, that's why he has airplane characteristics.
Yeah, and the bigger Kayrcarom grew, the more food he needed and therefore increasingly competing against other carnivores. The good thing is that the bigger he grew, the less competitors dared to face him. Until he became the top predator with no contender.

Antes era un dragoncito tierno, aunque daba atisbos de que sería fortachón. Ahora que ha sobrevivido cada batalla y superado cada obstáculo, se ha hecho un absoluto DRAGÓN.

Vengo usando eclipse (creo así se llama) desde el año pasado, de la misma forma que usaba el beta de FA. Está bonito. No sabía iban a obligar a todos a abandonar el clásico. Raro es que en FA puedes conservar el tema clásico si quieren y DA no, cuando es FA el que tiene menos recursos. Algo me dicen van a seguir al pie de la letra el roadmap que mencionaron en 2015, el convertirse en red social mezcla de instagran con facebook.

Pues desde 2007 que vienen diciendo les gustaría ser como facebook y con la implementación del algoritmo y los grupos lo han hecho parcialmente. Los likes, la nueva interface y los nuevos cambios en el algoritmo no hacen más que reafirmarlo; DA quiere ser una red social. Y pues lo uso a veces cuando un amigo quiere le vea sus publicaciones o para hablar con realitysquared, más allá de eso no hago nada.

Dinero, pues, Deviantart no opera por caridad x3 y siendo una red social atrae más gente y por ende más cuentas premium. No es que los justifique, pero entiendo por qué lo hacen. Por eso es que también no uso DA seriamente, el sitio es pay2win y, sino se la chupas a los demás o te haces grupos, nunca crecer. Todo gracias al algoritmo milagroso que usa~

Bueno, por eso es que no concidero a DA una galería de arte. FA puede ser raro y complicado, pero no es pay2win y no usa algoritmos, todos tienen la oportunidad de estar bajo el foco, el único factor que importa es que tan bueno eres. Aunque eso trae dificultades: como es galería de arte por esfuerzo la gente floja o tramposa le va mal, mientras a gente como yo suele irle bien.

Yeah, sometimes I'm a bit repetitive, but it is because I always feel the same with my art eeheh. It's like always saying that I'm happy.
You may have noticed that the stories of my characters have something in common: they live difficult lives, sometimes oppressed by others or by their defects, but they always fight and never give up and most of the time they manage to re-emerge as great characters, important and strong among the others. This is actually a reflection of my own life, because my life has been extremely difficult, but I have never given up and I have learned to grow strong in the face of adversity.

Many including me can relate to such hardships but if you have turned out well like your characters if not better then that makes things all the better... your characters and art are gorgeous and so is how they overcome so much. I am so eager to see more of your great art and poses... I may wonder so much at times what is more enticing your amazing characters and artwork or the stories that come with them...
There is also the fact that since I was a child I felt I was a dragon in my soul. So I always felt like I was destined to realize my dreams, no matter how much effort it took. And regardless of the difficulty, I always worked to achieve my dreams. In the same way that a dragon deals with strong winds or obstacles, never giving up made my wings strong.
Well, I work much more on my drawings ahaha, so I would prefer that my art was the most appreciated, after all I create my stories in less than an hour. My art is like a plate of food while my stories are like the seasoning~

A plate? A PLATE? If this is a plate with seasoning I want to know what a buffet will be like... and I really appreciate what you explain for me. For some artist either the story or the drawing is longer part and or the hardest and many choose not to have a lengthy story for their art so this is obviously very nice you have both... if your art is like the food and your stories are like the seasoning I am a glutton for both and I really want so much more and do not feel like I have had enough yet and I may never have enough because I always want more of it...

Ahaha well, perhaps all my gallery could be called a buffet~ I also like the idea that my drawings should be an amazing experience for the senses. In this way, people who are left wanting to know and learn more have a story to become satisfied and delighted. It's also a matter of pride, I always want people to know my characters and generate admiration... like trying to be the best~

Yeah, my style is not as complicated as it seems, after all it is made up of pure lines. But it's the whole set of lines that makes it beautiful and unique and in the end complex.
