Story Sample (Old)
A very old story I’ve decided to post, as a test for how people would react/ if you’d want more. This story is not related to any canon lore with my characters but was a one-off world created when I wrote it and will likely not be continued.
Text:
In the lower valley, a dark figure stood, his antlers glistening with morning dew. His dark eyes, wisdom shown in them, gazed over the glorious field of grass, each blade carefully examined. The morning sun glew on his face, and his powerful muscles rippled with strength.
Trees skirted the edge of the valley, and upon the higher part, stood another figure, whose powerful legs seemed more muscular than the first, and he stood with no antlers, his face more stout and his chest, strong. His ears were small and pointed, alert, watching the sound of the figure down the hill. Slowly, the second figure turned away, trotting for the safety of his stall.
The first figure stood silently, and stared on, his eyes blurred, almost distorted. The figure flicked his small tail, signaling for a few others to join them. Each one stumbled up, anxious and tired. The first figure’s face became serious as he addressed the largest of the others, whose power was shown greatly in the great size of his antlers.
“This valley is of the Deer. We have lived here for centuries,” the first figure’s voice was icy and deep as he spoke, “so why do I see such as the hooves of such a disgraceful creature? I can see him clearly through the wind and the sound, and why is he here, may I ask? Why was I not alerted of this?!”
The second figure hesitated, his power seeping out of him at those frosty words. He stood quietly for a minute, pondering what to say so as to not infuriate the first.
“As your lead guard, Celio, I, Honar, apologize for this-”
“I don’t want to hear of your excuses!” Celio glared at him, his dark eyes staring deep into Honar’s soul. He sighed impatiently, “I want you to understand that I need to know about my territory, even though I’m blind…. I-I don’t want to be… treated… like a-a baby.” His voice tapered off, painful memories seeping into his mind.
Honar flinched at his mistake of words.
“I feel that it is time we make our move. They have been here, eating our food, far too long.” Celio stated, blandly.
“Are you sure? I’m not certain if the younger males are ready for-”
“I am sure! Alright? You hear me? Send them to training at once!” Celio whipped around, snorting into Honar’s face, his murky eyes searching for Celio’s face.
Honar turned back to the forest, signaling for the onlookers to join him. He turned his head as he trotted off, hoping Celio wouldn’t hurt the younger males of his herd. Celio was unfazed, staring once again into the valley. Honar then turned his head to his followers, each having a small stump of an antler protruding from either side of the head.
