The Legend of Miller

Prologue


Hello! My name is Miller, and this is my story about my life as a dragon. Yep, that’s right - a dragon. I come from a place called the dragon realm. It’s like your human realm, except we’re dragons! And we have magic. Humans may not believe in magic or dragons, but trust me, it’s all real. (Most dragons don’t believe in humans either, so don’t worry.)

So anyway, we dragons live in caves (similar to your houses), and I live in one with my parents, my brother and my sister. We can build all kinds of cool stuff with magic, like tools or furniture, or anything really! However, if a dragon or dragoness loses their magic, they die. As you can see, magic is very important to us. Also, we speak draconic (the dragon language), but to keep things simple, I’ll tell it in english. The cave we live in is located in a town,on the top of a giant mountain, behind a giant waterfall, called Dragon Falls. I’m having my 180th hatch day soon (dragons age slowly; some of us can live up to 1,000 years!) and so I’m going to finally become an adult.

My mothers name is Auroraiexs (Auror for short), and she is a really nice and loving dragoness. I love her a lot for being such a good mother figure all my life. Malnisiln (or just Malni) is my father and he’s equally great. He met my mother at Dragon Falls when he was a young drake teaching school for hatchlings. My mom heals other dragons via magic and ancient herbs, so they met after he broke his wing during one of his lessons. Eventually they got together and did a lot of research on dragon diseases, specifically wing-loss (where hatchlings are born without wings).

My brother’s name is Maolisx (his nick name is Mao). We’re best buds. We protect each other and always have each other’s backs. His mate’s name is Blizexis (Bliz), and she’s currently pregnant with hatchlings, which means I’m gonna be an uncle! I’m sure they’re going to be great parents.

My sister’s name is Virchis (we actually do call her Virchis), and she hatched the same time as Mao and I. She loves reading books and singing; she’s incredibly talented, just like our mom. She also volunteers with the air force, healing the wounded as they come home from battle.

And that’s us! Just your ordinary dragon family.

Or at least we were, until that fateful day when everything changed…
