Lyrics
Close enough to start a war
All that I have is on the floor
God only knows what we're fighting for
All that I say, you always say more
I can't keep up with your turning tables
Under your thumb, I can't breathe
So, I won't let you close enough to hurt me
No, I won't rescue you to just desert me
I can't give you the heart you think you gave me
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables
To turning tables
Under haunted skies, I see you
Where love is lost, your ghost is found
I braved a hundred storms to leave you
As hard as you try, no I will never be knocked down
I can't keep up with your turning tables
Under your thumb, I can't breathe
So, I won't let you close enough to hurt me
No, I won't rescue you to just desert me
I can't give you the heart you think you gave me
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables
Turning tables
Next time I'll be braver
I'll be my own savior
When the thunder calls for me
Next time I'll be braver
I'll be my own savior
Standing on my own two feet
I won't let you close enough to hurt me
No, I won't rescue you to just desert me
I can't give you the heart you think you gave me
It's time to say goodbye to turning tables
To turning tables
Turning tables, yeah

Good pitch control. Your voice is really well-suited for the alternative genre I'd say. You have a natural brightness and sharpness to your voice that a lot of singers in that genre have. The only obvious vocal critique I can give you is during the chorus, when you sing the Bb on the last syllable of "ta-bles," you sound like you're forcing your larynx up to hit the note. I do this too, especially during the high point of the song because it feels like you're giving the note more energy, but it just comes off as sounding forced. It's a pretty minor thing, but when you force your larynx up, it greatly limits your range on the higher end. The best way to fix this is simply relax. When you're getting ready to hit a higher note in a song, raise your eyebrows and imagine your Adam's apple going down and not up. That will open up your high notes, making them sound more effortless and less forced. Another trick with high notes is to practice singing the note by exhaling a stream of air rather than pushing with your vocal cords. For example, if you're singing a high note that has the vowel "ah," practice by simply exhaling. Then slowly add the "ah" sound to the exhale until you have a full "ah" sound. The point of this is to train your voice to get used to the feeling of singing with using air flow rather than pushing with your vocal cords. Air flow is ALWAYS better for singing than pushing.
