Complete pic of skekLach the Collector, from the TokyoPop Manga Legends of the Dark Crystal volumes 1 and 2, created by Heidi Arnold
Unlike the Canon Age of Resistances version of the Collector, who was a jaded at all the time (not to mention suffering a severe case of allergens and massive pustules), the Legends skekLach was a force to be reckon with: indeed he was the series principle antagonist, plotting to cozy himself next to the Emperor as his favorite advisor while undermining both skekVar the General and skekSil the Chamberlain, in his bid to get the throne. In the graphic Novels, skekLach was in charge to collecting the Poddling and Gelfling for slaves, the latter specially for its enriching powerful essence, as well the treasures collected from the raids, which he display in his chamber. This made him Superior to the Garthim Master, skekUng, who was his ally. He also had taken taste to the Gelfling Essence and force skekTek the Scientist into compliance, knowing he too would be in trouble if the Emperor found out, but his acquisition Raids were halted when two survivors, Lahr and Neffi, help gather the Gelfling from a hidden village to fight back, forcing the Garthim to retreat from their prey for the first time, their actions been recorded by a Crystal Bat who later inform to the Collector, the latter vowing revenge.
In the 2nd volume, skekLach's influence has diminished the power of the Chamberlain's, who now scheme to take the former down, using his own spy network of animals, promising safety. Not long after, when both Larh and Neffi sneak into the Crystal Castle to save the others, they confronted the Collector, who Larh wounded to allow Neffi to escape; while having the Sheppard as prisoner, skekLach forces Larh into servitude by locating other hidden Villages out, admitting he had drank essence, not knowing one of skekSil's spies was listening, and strapping Spy Eyes onto Lahr. Knowing this, Chamberlain allows Neffi to escape with the Prisoners in order to blame skekLach for the Breakout.
The Chamberlain challenges the Collector to Trial by Fire but loses and is force to vow to skekLach under threat of banishment, which he a heeds to.
skekLach had a mechanical left arm, a scar on the left side of the face and a glass eye. His Garnets was adorn with belts and trinkets and had bags fill with treasures, swords and spy eyes. His Counterpart among the Mystics was urSen the Monk, who served as narrator in the series.
