Y'know... I was always curious about what happened to the gray werewolf in Van Helsing. We never saw a body, and they never said what happened to him after he fell off the cliff...

So when a couple of travelers get attacked by a rogue werewolf shortly after Dracula was destroyed, they too bore a curse... but at least not servitude to a monster. (Hence why it's less skin ripping and more natural - no longer a corruptive element to it).

But I hope that me and  thronezwei make some damn good wolves. Got some grey from our maker, and our own coloration... bellies rumbling. Gonna go learn how to wolf... see what happens during and after... learn to adapt to a nightly change after all!
